Hey Dawn! 1981... and would you believe I have 3 (count em, 3) all time top 250 songs on the list. Woo Hoo!!! Hearts - All time top 250 (actually 150) Marty's most successful solo. Is everything all right? You bet it is! Boy From NYC - Actually liked the original by the Ad Libs in 1965 more. But this was OK You Make My Dreams - On my H&O list this is somewhere a little above the middle. Not bad at all. Slow Hand - Like this one quite a bit. One of my fave Pointers I Don't Need You - Listed as one of my Kenny faves on Sat's opinions chart the other day. It's the gravelly voice. Elvira - Woo Hoo! Top 250. Love it! Fantastic bass. Anyone familiar with the version by (I think) Dante and the Evergreens? May have been before the O.R. Boys - not sure. Anyway, they sang "my hearts on fire-a" to make it rhyme. (Dumb) Theme from Greatest American Hero - Kinda sappy, but I really like it. (The show wasn't bad either) Jessies Girl - Sort of an updated and up-tempo version of Johnny Tillotson's Jimmy's Girl from 20 years earlier. Not bad. Betty Davis Eyes - My third Woo-hoo!! (Top 100) It's the gravelly voice again. The One That You Love - I'll say it.... I like Air Supply! I think I'm gonna burn a cd called "Guilty Pleasures" and include Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Herman's Hermits, Michael Bolton ---- WAIT!! NOT Michael Bolton - but I think I can find enough to make a cd.

Hi Dawn:)
10. I Heard this a few times , but that was about it.
9. I thought they did a pretty good job
8.I loved Hall and Oates ( still do) they were releasing great material at the time.
7.Another song that's pretty good
6.Don''t remember this at all
5.I liked it at first , then they started running it into the ground - LOL
4. I still , every once in a while find myself humming the melody - thought it was good.
3.LOVED this! - he had some really good Pop / Rock songs . It was everywhere . I burned it onto CD a while back.
2.Another huge hit - still like listening to it now - have it on a compilation CD
1. I actually didn't mind a couple of the songs - there I said it ;D - no fruit throwing please:) - I never bought any of the 45's but didn't mind once in a while hearing them on the radio. I saw them on I think Solid Gold and the singer's arm was in a cast.

This chart is a chick's dream! LOL! Seriously, lots of female aimed songs.
Even the two best songs here, Hearts and You Make My Dreams, are popular with the ladies.
Although I don't listen to it these days, Jesse's Girl is a good tune also.
The rest of the chart is average.

I wish Marty had recorded more solo material - he has a great voice, and I love his work with Jefferson Airplane/Starship as well. 'Slow Hand' is wonderful! I also like Conway Twitty's version. LOL about Michael Bolton! Seriously, though, I do enjoy some of Air Supply's music, and I've always liked 'The One That You Love'.

I've grown to like it more again now that I don't hear it as often. Oh, I definitely agree about Rick Springfield! His music is really great, and 'Jessie's Girl' was one of his best songs! LOL about the fruit! If any fruit is thrown, it will have to be at both of us, because I like some of their songs too!

You know, it hadn't occurred to me when I was posting this chart, but you're absolutely right about many of these songs being more popular with women! That's especially true of the Air Supply and Manhattan Transfer songs. 'Jessie's Girl' is one of my favorites from Rick! That song was what really got me to notice him, and led to a crush on him that would last several years!

Here's a link to a clip of 'Hearts': www.mymusic.com/product.asp?curr=0&myptr=addany&muzenbr=329435. A great song, but I hardly ever hear it on the radio these days, unfortunately. I've always liked the Manhattan Transfer's cover of 'The Boy from New York City'. I was familiar with their version first - I didn't hear the Ad Libs' version until about 7 or 8 years after this one was released.

Ok. 7 more to go. I believe I would have just finished 3rd grade. Not one of my better years. I got a really bad haircut that everyone made fun of, and I think I was missing a lot of teeth, and I first got the nickname of Dolly Parton. Not to mention the only fashions available to the chubbier little girls looked like mini-maternity clothes.
10) This song was ok. I kind of get tired of it about half way through. 9) No. I never liked it. At all. 8) Love Hall and Oates. This was a good one. 7) I liked it. I think I liked it better than Conway's version. 6) I can't place this one. My mom was heavy into him at the time, but I just can't place it. 5) EW! This one was big around here. All over the radio. They were at our big fair that year. 4) Believe it or not, George isn't at home, please leave a message at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone. Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home.... 3) My cousin was way into him. I was a bit young for him, most girls who were into him were older than me. 2) Eh. Was never a big fan of this one. 1) I do like this one. I love to listen to them when I want to chill.....

Here's a link to a clip of 'I Don't Need You': www.mymusic.com/product.asp?curr=0&myptr=addany&muzenbr=139167. I haven't heard that one very often on the radio in the years since it was current. Air Supply's music is pretty relaxing to listen to.
