I agree that 'Alone' is one of the few bright spots on this chart. Ann really does a wonderful job with the vocals.

You're right about 'Luka' - it was very overplayed back then. It's a good song, with some very thoughtful lyrics, but I did get a little tired of hearing it.

Good tune with reflective and insightful lyrics. Spiritual and uplifting to me. Not as cynical as some might think.

That's true about 'Wot's It to Ya' not getting much airplay anymore. I've rarely heard 'Dominoes' either - that one I do like a lot!

I remember hearing something about T'Pau on Nina Blackwood's "Absolutely 80's" show back about a month ago, although I can't quite recall what was said. They did seem to kind of disappear after this hit.

I've got a bunch of those spots scattered all over the place because of religiously taping the Monkees in the effort to get them all back in the 80's.

I've also got a bunch of spots of famous people banging the MTV gong (and a pic of the Monkees banging the MTV gong) and pretty much the whole "Stevie Washington: Angry Youth" series from years of religously taping Remote Control. Why? I don't know - I was 15 and thought Colin Quinn and Steve were THE thing. I used to write to them and I got 2 letters back on Remote Control stationary but I have no clue where they are. My best friend has tons of pics of me wearing my various Remote Control t-shirts (I owned about 10 - and 1 Club MTV).

Ok, I'll shut up about that now.

9) Nah. I didn't mind later Heart, but I didn't like this one, and wanna puke everytime I hear All I Wanna Do.
8) LOVED The Jets - This one is good, but not as good as Rocket 2 U.
7) No. I really didn't like this one, and this was the time that Madonna shifted away from the stuff I liked into the stuff (through her current stuff) that I don't like.
6) Was never really a fan. She was in that nasty bus accident not too far from here.
5) No thanks. I too loved Tom's Diner, but all the kids were raving about this song because it was about child abuse and good for her for tackling the topic, but the lyrics just really aren't all that great.
4) LOVE THIS ONE!!!! One of my all time faves. According to the Living In Oblivion CD that this appears on, the group named themselves for the Vulcan Princess of Star Trek (you are right, H2). They're from Shrewsbury England, and the lead singer is Carol Decker.

I love those old Nick at Nite spots! One of these days, I'll have to go through my old tapes and see what all is there!

I like pretty much everything Madonna did up through True Blue, but after that, it's pretty hit or miss with me. She kind of lost me during that 'Erotica' phase.

I'd like to get the rest of those Living in Oblivion compilations. I have one of them on cassette, and it's pretty good.
