10. Don't know it, but I don't like post Kiki Elton.
9. Great tune! My fave with any Ray Parker involvement!
8. Classic tune. Used to love the Son of a b!tch line.
7. Never liked it. One of the weakest disco tunes.
6. Good song. I like it.
5. Great tune that I like a lot. Remember it well from back then. Wish it was on the first volume of greatest hits!
4. Only remember this from recent years. My wife likes Donna a lot. Another good one.
3. I'm sure I know this one.....
2. Of course we all loved it then, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.
1. Ick. Another bad disco tune.

Hey Dawn! A couple of gems and much fertilizer here, today, IMO. Mama Can't Buy You Love - Maybe not my least fave Elton, but somewhere in the bottom five. You Can't Change That - I liked Ray with Raydio better than without. This one is a good song. Devil Wen't Down To Georgia - A great story, well told. I've always wondered if it was inspired by Steven Vincent Benet's classic poem "The Mountain Whippoorwill", which other than the fact that the reference to the Devil is only minor, is the same story. If you are interested: www.cybercom.net/~klb/whipp.html(I'm adding this as a modification later in the day. I decided to do a quick Google search myself, and found that the song is indeed inspired and loosely based on the Benet poem. Looks like my eighth grade English class paid off after all) ;D Ring My Bell - See fertilizer comment When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman - Always liked Dr. Hook. This one is below average for him, IMO. After The Love Has Gone - I've never been very much of a EWF fan, but this is a beautiful song. - one of the gems! Bad Girls - Using the ol' shovel again! Main Event/Fight - Piling it up even higher My Sharona - The next Beatles?? Yeah... right! - but, if you take the hype away, this song wasn't altogether bad. Good Times - --- and --- totally buried. Phew!

Hmmm let's see I'd be going into the 7th grade that September. 10.This was The last Elton 45 I bought until 1983's Kiss The Bride. IMO his last great single of the 70's 9.Fantastic tune 8.Loved this track! 7.It was OK but there were alot better disco songs. 6.Yeah I liked it but I thought Sharing The Night Together was better. His early 70's material is just great! 5.One of their best - always liked it 4.See? LOL a perfect example of a much better disco record 3.Not a fan. 2.I loved this so much then and it still get's regular spins on the turntable and in the CD player. Of course they weren't the "Next Beatles" but their songs were incredibly catchy with hooks a plenty. Just a great band! I have the 45 ,Both Get the Knack and But The Little Girls Understand on vinyl and 2 CD's in my collection. 1.Not bad.

If I did my calculation correctly, I'd be getting ready for 1st grade - I had a cool teacher - not like kindergarden.
10) No thanks. Not an Elton fan at all. 9) Eh. It's better than Ghostbusters. 8) My husband's favorite. He's been looking for a copy of the version with the "b" word in it. 7) I like disco, and wasn't really fond of this one. 6) Eh. It's ok. 5) No. I don't know why, but I can't stand this song. 4) Love Donna Summer. 3) I remember the movie being mediocre - the song is soso. 2) It's ok - the band is overrated - esp for a one hit wonder. 1) Love it! Love Nile Rogers! This serves as the mix for Rappers Delight!

Mama Can't Buy You Love--Really like this song for some reason.
You Can't Change That--Good one. Catchy.
The Devil Went Down to Georgia--Always liked this one. My mom didn't like me singing it around the house though. LOL!
Ring My Bell--Oh god, make it stop! ;D
...Beautiful Woman--Not bad. Dr. Hook had better, though.
After The Love...I'll pass.
Bad Girls--Good party song. Love Donna!
The Main Event/Fight--I remember going with my aunt to see the movie The Main Event. I liked it a lot back then. I watched it again not too long ago when it was on some cable station. Eek! How could I have enjoyed this movie back in the day? LOL! And the song? Equally as bad. ;D
My Sharona--Great song! I was diggin' The Knack back then.
Good Times--This got really old, really fast. If I never hear this one again, it'll be too soon.

It's not quite in the same league as some of his earlier hits, but it's still very good. It's only been in recent years that I've heard the unedited version - I always heard the "son of a gun" version back in the day. I agree with you about 'After the Love Has Gone' being on their first greatest hits. It's definitely one of their best!

Phew! Hey H2! LOL about the fertilizer! ;D That's interesting about "The Mountain Whipporwill" - I hadn't known that! I checked out the link, and there are definitely some similarities between the two works. I remember reading about The Knack being hailed as the next Beatles - why they were so hyped like that, I'm not sure. I've always liked 'My Sharona', though.

I just recently picked up a Greatest Hits cassette at Walmart, and there are a lot of great songs on it. I agree, 'Sharing the Night Together' is hard to top. LOL about 'Bad Girls'! I agree, it's the better of the two records. I should probably check out more of The Knack's music. I never understood the "next Beatles" thing, but you're right, their hits were pretty catchy.

I'm guessing that the "b" version is the original album cut from Million Mile Reflections. I've been hearing that version more and more in recent years. I really like Chic's music, and 'Good Times' has always been a favorite.

Here's a link to a clip of 'Mama Can't Buy You Love': www.mymusic.com/product.asp?curr=0&myptr=addany&muzenbr=114296. It didn't seem to get as much airplay as his earlier 70's hits. 'Ring My Bell' hasn't held up quite as well as some of the other disco hits of the day, I agree. It's catchy, but there are others I like more.
