Hey Dawn. Got a top 250 here, and some more good ones.
10. Drivin’ My Life Away – Eddie Rabbitt -- Was never a big fan of his, but I did like this one.
9. Another One Bites the Dust – Queen - OK, but they did much better.
8. Lookin’ for Love – Johnny Lee - Nice simple song. Light country/rock
7. Late in the Evening – Paul Simon - Yet another "just OK" Paul Simon solo.
6. Give Me the Night – George Benson - Good, but doesn't match This Masquerade
5. Sailing – Christopher Cross - Like it.
4. Fame – Irene Cara - My fave by her.
3. Emotional Rescue – Rolling Stones - Eh
2. All Out of Love – Air Supply - Woo Hoo! All time top 250! Love that 15 second, one note ending.
1. Upside Down – Diana Ross - Better than most of her solo efforts.

About one month shy of 7.
10) It's ok. Was big around here and played to death. 9) Great song. Used to play a game to it at the roller rink. 8) I remember hearing this one over and over on the way to the Philadelphia Zoo. I have a cool pic from that trip but no scanner......It's a good song. 7) Love this one! I could do without the "smoke myself a j" verse, tho. 6) Good song. I enjoy George Benson. 5) Eh. It's a bit too muzac-y for me. 4) Liked the movie and the tv show, but tired of them eventually, like the song. 3) Great song. Not heard on radio around here much. 2) Another great song. Love Air Supply when I need to mellow out... 1) No thanks. This one and "I'm Coming Out" are so overplayed.

From now on, I'll just cover the ones that I know instead of wasting space with my little "Don't know this one," or similar comments. 9. Another classic from Queen. This is a great one. 5. I really love this song, but I'm not familiar with the Cross version. I only know *NSync's. Wow, I'm really showing my age here, aren't I? 4. Great song. If you've never heard this performed a capella in four-part harmony, you don't know what you're missing. 1. Good one. I like it a lot, although I probably wouldn't consider it one of her best.

Hi Dawn - Weird chart, put pretty typical of 1980.
10. Drivin' My Life Away - I liked Eddie Rabbit and this song ain't bad.
9. Another One Bites the Dust - My favorite on this chart. Classic Queen.
8. Lookin' for Love - A country top 10 from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack
7. Late in the Evening - I prefer Paul's early - mid 70s stuff better.
6. Give Me the Night - ?
5. Sailing - One of his better songs, one of only a couple I really like.
4. Fame - Good song, just way overplayed
3. Emotional Rescue - It is the Stones

He was starting to develop the "rockabilly" style that would be so successful for him in the 80s. I'm with you on the Paul Simon song. It's not a bad song, but it took a while for me to warm up to it. Still, there are others of his that I prefer. 'All Out of Love' is a good one from Air Supply, I agree. Russell Hitchcock's voice is especially strong on this one.

It's a really nice blend of jazz, R&B, and pop. I've never seen the movie version of Fame, but I was a big fan of the TV show, at least during the first part of its run. I agree, Air Supply is nice to listen to when you want to relax. I have their greatest hits LP, but wouldn't mind updating to CD eventually.

I remember 'Another One Bites the Dust' was huge when I was in junior high school! The bass playing is terrific, I agree. I heard 'Late in the Evening' quite a lot back then also, I remember, but very rarely hear it on the radio these days. It's been a while since I've heard 'Sailing', but what a wonderful, relaxing song that is! One of my favorites from Christopher's excellent debut album.

I completely agree with you about 'Another One Bites the Dust'. That guitar riff and rhythm pattern is classic! LOL I used to hear Christopher Cross' 'Sailing' occasionally on the adult contemporary stations, but not very often nowadays, for some reason. I imagine that 'Fame' would sound great with the four-part harmony, especially on the chorus! I've always liked this song a lot.

I really like the "Urban Cowboy" style music from that era. The soundtrack to the movie has some great songs, although there are quite a few that are much more rock/pop than country. I agree with you about Paul Simon. 'Late in the Evening' is okay, but his best work was in the 70s, with songs like 'Kodachrome'.

10. Always liked this one. Used to do a goofy dance to it as a kid which made my dad laugh.
9. Good funky tune that made the R&B charts.
8. Sick of this one.
7. Not big on Paul Simon.
6. Not too bad, better than some of his others.
5. Decent, but not great.
4. Ick.
3. You must have done a chart close to this date recently, because I remember reviewing this. I know some people hate this, but I love it! One of my faves from them. So unique.
2. Actually one of their better ones, but nothing I would listen to.
1. Eh.

I didn’t know that about ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ making the R & B charts. It does have a great funky groove, I agree. Yes, I did a 1980 chart a few weeks back, and ‘Emotional Rescue’ was on that one also. I remember it ranked pretty high on your INSANE list.
