4. Cute song, but it's quite a bit overplayed. The video's funny.
1. Good, but there are others I like a lot more.

Hey Dawn! 1988 -- and would you believe I have two top 250s on the chart. It surprised me. 10. It Would Take a Strong Strong Man - Not really familiar with this one. 9. Love Bites - YEAH! Probably my fave of all hair-era ballads. Top 250! Maybe even Top 100 in my next compilation. 8. Nobody's Fool - Not bad. 7. If It Isn't Love - Not good. 6. When It's Love - Kinda like this one. - But it should be put together with the last one to make a song called "If It Isn't Love When It's Love" 5. I'll Always Love You - Not Bad 4. Don't Worry Be Happy - Catchy, but I really don't like it. 3. Perfect World - Don't remember it 2. Simply Irresistible - I'm not a big fan of Palmer. Don't really care for his voice. This is mediocre. 1. Sweet Child O' Mine - My other Top 250. My son turned me on to GnR when he was about 10. I love this song. Great guitar work!

10. It Would Take a Strong Strong Man - Rick Astley Whatever happened to him? Had a unique voice, that's for sure. As for the song....blech! 9. Love Bites - Def Leppard Good one, fond memories of an ex-love. 8. Nobody's Fool - Kenny Loggins I don't even remember this song. Even the title isn't familiar. Weird... 7. If It Isn't Love - New Edition Not up to par with Candy Girl and Cool It Now, or even Mr. Telephone Man. 6. When It's Love - Van Halen Van Hagar always takes a back seat to the Diamond Dave days. 5. I'll Always Love You - Taylor Dayne Really good vocals. Doesn't set my world on fire though. 4. Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin Guilty pleasure. This song always cheers me up and makes me feel like acting silly...like tap dancing in Publix. 3. Perfect World - Huey Lewis & the News I don't remember this one either. Maybe I've got a mental block against the bad music of the late 80's. 2. Simply Irresistible - Robert Palmer Formula: Put more hot, identically dressed chicks in your video dancing and jiggling and you've got an instant Top Two record 1. Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses Awesome. Simply awesome. Slash's guitar intro and solo are breathtaking.

7. If It Isn't Love - ?
6. When It's Love - ok, Van Halen's done a lot better

4. Don't Worry Be Happy - Maybe the worst song ever recorded.
3. Perfect World - ok, but Huey's done better
2. Simply Irresistaible - Kind of like this song. Don't here it much, but I like listening to it when I do here it.

There's alot of "Love" on this chart today 10.Were his video's ever cheesy - "groan" LOL I don't recall this one at all. 9.One of the 80's best heavy - rock ballads - good stuff! 8.Don't recall this one 7.Our introduction to Bobby Brown(great!) - No thank you. 6.Now we're talking! - One of my faves from Van Hagar - nice drumming from Alex. 5.Whatever happened to her? - One minute she was popular then nothing - I remember hearing this(it was Ok) and I believe I have it on a compilation album. 4.This really got on my nerves when I first heard it LOL - and I remember it was played alot. 3.I really liked the album and bought the CD when it came out - Bruce Hornsby and The GREAT Tower of Power Horns played on the record. I thought it was one of '88's better albums IMO 2. I liked it very much! bought the 45 1. This was played sooo much back then and I've mentioned before that Axl's vocals really bugged me (finger nails on a chalkboard LOL) but I have to admit that Slash was(is) a great guitar player.

Ah, the start of 10th grade. Academically and personally, not a great one. I did get to go to Europe, though. It saved the year. Some good songs today.
10) My best friend loved him. I like this song. Very "sing-alongable". It would take a strong, strong man to ever let you go...... 9) No thanks. I loved Def Lep back in the Pyromania days, but after the accident, their stuff all sounded almost identical, and all their videos were identical as well. 8) I know a song by this title, but not by him. 7) I know the group, but not this song. 6) No thanks either. I don't like Van Hagar. 5) Funny story break: A girl I was in band with was totally obsessed with Taylor. Pizza Hut was selling tapes, and she stole the ad off the table and taped it up in her band locker. The smartest kid I knew (short, thin, glasses, dad was chem teacher, mom was college professor) was also a perv, and he saw the pic. It was of her in a low cut blouse, and said "Taylor Dane: A woman with a big voice, and big hits to match." Jon then goes "OHHHHH big HITS". It took a minute to sink in. As for the song, it's ok, but grew weary of that girl playing it. 4) EW! We made band freshmen listen to this for punnishment. 3) Prob my least favorite of all Huey's songs. He uses the words "perfect world" entirely too many times. 2) Love it. I saw Robert Palmer on the Heavy Nova tour that year (another highlight I forgot to mention). My ex was disappointed he did not bring the dancing girls. It was a great show. He came out in a 3 piece grey silk suit with a slim pink tie. He never broke a sweat in 3 hours. Super cool..... 1) G'NR is one group that I can honestly say I do not like a single thing they do - at all.

I love these late 80's charts, to see everyone rip em apart! LOL! Keep em up!
10. Good Lord, NO.
9. Decent, but not the best on that album.
8. Don't know it.
7. Don't know it, probably better off.
6. One of their best with Sammy.
5. Nope.
4. Dodger hit it on the nose. One of the worst ever.
3. Don't know it.
2. I got sick of his songs easily.
1. Great tune. One of the best intros ever.

4. Cute song, but it's quite a bit overplayed. The video's funny. 1. Good, but there are others I like a lot more. I hear ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ a lot still, which surprises me a little, because I had originally thought it would be kind of a “fad” song that wouldn’t be heard much after its chart run.

Hey H2! ‘Love Bites’ is a good one from one of my top hard rock/metal bands. I like the vocals on the chorus especially. I’m not as fond of the Van Hagar era as their earlier work with Dave, but ‘When It’s Love’ is probably one of their best with that lineup. I’ve gone back and forth about ‘Simply Irresistible’ over the years – right now, I’m kinda lukewarm on it. It’s okay, but he did better songs.

I remember his early-to-mid 80’s songs got a lot of play here, but the later material was ignored for the most part. I agree about New Edition. I liked some of their earlier songs, but this one has never been a favorite. LOL about the Robert Palmer video! I remember getting very tired of this song for a while when the Pepsi commercial was all the rage.

I agree, this isn’t the greatest of charts. LOL about ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ ;D This does seem to be one of those songs that people either really like or really hate. ‘Perfect World’ isn’t quite as good as some of his Sports-era songs, but I’ve always liked it. I think I’ve heard it more in recent years than I did when it was current!

About the “Love” songs - I noticed that too when I was typing up the list! LOL about Rick Astley’s videos! I think I’ve only seen the one to ‘Together Forever’, but I’ll pass on the rest! I’ve wondered that too about Taylor. She had a great voice, and a lot of hits, but didn’t seem to stay on top for very long. Those horns are great on ‘Perfect World’, aren’t they? They’re a big part of why I like the song, I think. ‘Small World’ was a good one from that album also!

There’s a song by Cinderella called ‘Nobody’s Fool’ that was popular the year before this, but I’m clueless as to this Kenny Loggins song. I’ve always liked his music, but must have missed this one entirely. LOL about the Taylor Dayne story! Oh, I remember 9th grade band initiation. We had to follow a flashlight beam on the other side of a sheet with our nose, and then after we’d finished that, we got slapped in the face with a plate of whipped cream! LOL about making the freshmen listen to that song!

I’m kind of the same way with Robert Palmer. I like a lot of his material, but I can only listen to it so many times before I start to get tired of it.
