Probably my all-time favorite year for music!
Make It With You--Fine ballad.
Candida--Great tune, but isn't "candida" a fungus?
Close To You--Carpenters classic, great harmonies.
In The Summertime--Annoying, but catchy
25 Or 6 To 4--OH YEAH! My absolute favorite song of all
time. Blazing horns, a kick-a$$ guitar solo(which in my mind is worth the price of admission by itself), and soaring vocals--this one has it all.
Julie, Do Ya Love Me--In a word, NO! Pass the insulin...
Patches--As maudlin and overdramatic as the lyrics are, I'll still take this one over the
other "Patches," where the guy falls in love with the girl from Shantytown, his folks nix the wedding, she drowns herself, and he prepares to join her.
Lookin' Out My Back Door/Long As I Can See The Light--Two great songs from my second-favorite band!
War--Protest classic which I like, but don't let my husband hear this one or he'll launch into a 10-minute rant about how the war protesters were a bunch of dope-smoking cowards who were afraid to fight for what they believed in...
(PS: I didn't know Edwin Starr passed away
)
Ain't No Mountain High Enough--Okay, but prefer Marvin & Tammi.
