1. A little bland for my taste.2 - 6. I don't know 'em.
7. Good tune. Anybody remember that show with Dan Akroyd?
8. I'd like to hear this one.
9. Never heard of it.
10. I love the Gaye-Terrell duets, but this one I don't know.
11 - 12. Not familiar with them.
13. Good, but I actually prefer to hear Carole King sing this. She and all the women on Vh1's Diva's Live 98 did this song and it was the highlight of the evening for me.
14. I used to not like this song all that much, until I heard Megan Mullally sing it. Wow! So obviously I prefer her version...
15. I know this song, but I don't know this version. Bette did this on her second album, BTW.
16 - 23. Don't know these.
24. I never really thought Nancy Sinatra could sing all that well. In fact, if her last name hadn't been Sinatra she probably wouldn't have had a singing career at all.
25 - 26. Never heard these before.
27. I like it.
28. Huh! I'm assuming this is the same Ode to Billie Joe. How weird, having two versions of the song in the top 40 at the same time.
29. Don't know it.
30. Love this song!
31 - 38. Don't know them.
39. Another great one by this legendary girl group.
40. Not bad.
'Your Precious Love' is a really nice duet, a little more ballad-like than most of their other hits.
I didn't realize Bette had covered 'Higher and Higher' - that's interesting! I like her cover of 'Do You Want to Dance' - it's much better than the original.
That is strange about the two 'Ode to Billie Joes', I agree. According to my top 40 book, that #28 position was the peak position on the chart for the King Curtis version, so it probably didn't get a lot of airplay even back in the day.
