I don't remember hearing this in the 70's but did hear it regularly for awhile on the radio in the early 80's - maybe because they had more hits by that time. I found a copy of the 45 around this time and also have it on the 2 CD Anthology - Houseparty! It peaked at #30 in 1973.I see that it's being used in a TV ad now . Here's a link to an audio clip to refresh your memory Track #9 www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1097568&cart=167989926&style=music

I don't remember it on the radio when it first came out. In 1975, I picked a two record compilation set, put out by Warner Bros called "Heavy Metal" and Give it to Me is included. Great song.

Sure do, Ken! Like you and Woody, I don't remember hearing it when it was current, but one of the oldies stations here used to play it quite a bit. I bought the 45 at a record fair back in the early 90s. Good tune!

The top 40 stations in my area (NW Pennsylvania) played the bee-jeebers out of this one in 1973. I was truly surprised several years later when I got a Joel Whitburn Billboard book to find that the song only made it up to around #30.
It's one of my all time faves!

Hi Ken. I remember Give It To Me quite well. I was living in Maine then, and J Geils was quite popular up there (I mean down there) at the time. The DJs played it a lot. Good song.
