OK we got a real oldie here in "Fever. " Three very different versions.
I went with the original by Little Willie John.
Which version is your fave?

Peggy Lee got my choice. If necessary, people can pick from Rita Coolidge, Madonna, and a host of others.

I picked Peggy Lee. I don't know why, maybe because her version just has something compelling to me. I can't explain it.
I always liked the SNL version:
"Give me fiber. Bulk and roughage. Fiber 'cause I wanna feel right. Fiber in the mornin' and fiber all through the night" - that's all I can remember, but it was very funny!

Peggy Lee's version. Like it better the Little Willie John's & never heard the McCoys' version (or Rita's or Madonna's)

I went with the McCoys, but Peggy's version would be a very close second choice.

Were it not for a local station playing co,mplete episodes of "The Allan Ginsburg Radio Shiow" (Circa "back east" 50s-60s) and his having played Little /willy John's version I would have joined in and said "Peggy Lee!" (Though I do like her version, too)
But now that I've heard the original I like it MUCH better so that gets my vote,

BTW, could the radio program you were talking about be the ARNIE Ginsburg Show ? ARNIE was the #1 jock in Boston throughout the late 50s and early 60s. He went by the nickname "Woo-Woo" , based on the fact that he was always playing train whistle sounds along with bells buzzers and what have you.

I chose Peggy Lee's version as well. I'm not familiar with the other two, but hers is just dynamite.

(You know me well, btw) Btw, too bad questions like these can't come with audio links. That way everyone would REALLY know their choices. Who knows? I might've picked the Mccoys. LOL! (But I seriously doubt it)
