I went with Other, for Barry Manilow's 'New York City Rhythm'. Love it!

I always liked the Billy Joel song. After 9/11 it became more meaningful.
Nearly voted for "other" for the Tradewinds "New York's a Lonely Town" - a truly forgettable classic from the surfin sixities. ("New York's a Lonely Town when you're the only surfer boy around." )

I voted other--"New York Minute" by Don Henley. The Adlibs/Manhattan Transfer song (both versions are great!) would be a close second.

I voted "other", for a very obscure song, "American City Suite" by Cashman & West. Lovely sound, but very depressing, a product of 70s pessimism about NYC's future. Of the ones listed, the Billy Joel one is my fave.

Actually it was 3 songs put together. I just thought of another one--"Why Should I Worry", sung by Billy Joel in the Disney cartoon "Oliver and Company". That's one of my son's favorite movies!

I'd go with Billy Joel...Of course he did manmy songs that had a "New York" theme or had references to something in NYC and it's environs...songs like "Movin Out" "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" "Miami 2017" "Uptown Girl" "You May Be Right" "Ballad of Billy The Kid"

Other.
The Trade Winds "New York's a lonely town".
Both versins of "Boy from NYC" would be 2nd and 3rd, and I favor the Manhattan Transfer.

Went off the chart for this one. New York Mining Disaster 1941/Have You Seen M Wife Mr. Jones by the Bee Gees is my favorite. New York, New York by Frank would be second. Also like a song from 1973 by the group New York City called I'm Doing Fine.

Gotta give it up for the Chairman of the Board, but I prefer Liza Minnelli's version of New York, New York from the movie with the same title.
