Wow, there was actually still some good tunes in 96!
The Foos and No Doubt are both great songs, but I went with 1979. I LOVE the music on that one, and it is probably the one case where Corgan's bad voice sounds GOOD.

Several good ones here, but I had to go with No Doubt. This is my favorite song of theirs, with Tragic Kingdom coming in a close second.

Wow!. I clicked on this post thinking I wouldn't know a single song from 1996. Turns out that I know at least 3, and a couple other titles sound familiar. Anyway, I HAD to vote for That Thing You Do. The entire soundtrack is full of great new music that was written to show what music was like in the early '60s. The title song is a great approximation of the early Beatles sound.
