Well I FINALLY tallied all the votes!

This list is APPROXIMATE. Some artists received the same amount of votes, but I would have been doing this FOREVER if I kept going.

Plus to REALLY find out who deserves to go in first, I'd have to match each artists against each of the other artists! I mean, looking below Skynyrd is below a lot of artists, but matched individually, would they get less votes than say, the Ventures or the Hollies? Maybe, maybe not.

Quite a great list! On that online poll I made a link for here (dodger already knows)--ONJ, KC/Sunshine Band and Angel ranked near the bottom (out of nearly 400 candidates). No surprise Chicago and the Moodys were near the top but Blondie's top 10 positioning was MUCH higher than our #53.

First of all, thanks for putting all the polls together Adam. Must have been a lot of work.
Second. I've always felt Chicago & The Moody Blues were two of the most glaring exclusions from the Rockhall. This kinda of confirms it.
Third. We as a group felt J Geils, DC5, & Blondie were middle of the pack, yet they were among this year's nominees. Go figure.
I would send this to the Hall as some form of petition, signed or endorsed by all of us.

Great list. With so many performers of this caliber waiting to be inducted, I still don't understand some of the Hall's choices for inductees in past years, such as Percy Sledge. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of the artists from this list included in the next few years' classes.

I hate to say it, but artists like Grandmaster Flash, Iggy and the Stooges, and Patti Smith have ALWAYS been Rolling Stone critics "darlings", so you know they are all going to get in. For some reason, I thought Patti Smith was already in..

Black Sabbath is a case of a band being SO influential, even the mighty RS can't deny them entry. But I'm sure they'll do everything they can to keep them out..

Some of these nominees make NO sense at all, especially Sir Douglas Quintet! If THEY can get in, why not the Thirteenth Floor Elevators? or the Count Five? or the Music Machine??!!
