A definite country flavor to this side. I voted for Christie.

I went with Sammi Smith. Always liked that one. My favorite song, however, is Mr. Bojangles. But I never liked The Dirt Band's cover. Give me Jerry Jeff Walker every time.

Not to demean the country crowd, but Christie, NO CONTEST!
Followed by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Lynn Anderson. Sammi Smith and Ray Price are 2 of my lesser faves on the series, can give or take 'em.

I just bought this CD, so I'll make a few comments:
Christie's "Yellow River" kicks butt!!!!!!! That's easily my favorite song here. (And if I'm not mistaken, the group is still around!) Runners-up (I'll include the whole CD here, not just one side of the album): Mark Lindsay, Wadsworth Mansion, Ocean, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. (not in any particular order) The Bells' track has really grown on me--I didn't like it at first, love it now! The only version of "Woodstock" that I really like is CSNY's. The MSC version here is kinda boring IMHO. Maybe that's because I'm comparing it to the original, tho'...
(edited to say: Or _was_ CSNY's version the original? I know Joni Mitchell wrote the song and recorded it also; I like most of her stuff but her version of "Woodstock" was even more boring than Matthews Southern Comfort's version IMHO...)
A friend of mine had that Glass Bottle album--I first heard it in about '73 or '74. It was pretty good. A racially-mixed group; 3 or 4 guys and 2 girls. IMHO, some of the other songs were much better, and much more memorable, than "I Ain't Got Time Anymore". (for instance, "Sorry Suzanne", which I found out later was a Hollies cover--I still have yet to hear the Hollies version) "I Ain't Got Time Anymore" isn't bad, though--in fact, I'm starting to like it more now. But they should have ended the "Have a Nice Day" CD with a more upbeat song--maybe the Mark Lindsay one or the Ocean one. That's just my opinion.
The rest of the songs are ok. I think Ray Price is still performing--I seem to remember seeing an ad for him appearing at some casino not long ago.
But so far, my favorite "Have a Nice Day" volume is still #6! (especially Brewer & Shipley's "Tarkio Road"--I'm in the minority that likes that song better than "One Toke Over the Line")

Oops--an addendum to my previous post: I checked out rateyourmusic.com a little while ago (I love that site!) and looked up the Glass Bottle album (they only had 1 album AFAIK) and it turns out "I Ain't Got Time Anymore" is NOT on that album (or at least it's not listed). No wonder I don't remember hearing that song at my friend Fran's house when she had the album...And I _KNOW_ that's the album she had. The band is pictured on the cover (4 guys and 2 girls) and some of them had biiiiiiiiiiig hair! I recognized some of the song titles when I read the list (and even remember a little of how some of the songs went). That's odd that their one hit isn't even on the album! I'll have to ask Fran if she remembers them...
