That's "gang", not "gnag", LOL...
Answer to be revealed when I get that far!

I was gonna say Rock Your Baby, since I know how much you rave over it, but I changed it to The Twist, because of it's significance as the only song to hit #1 a second time after dropping from the chart.

Dawn, Adam, Ed, John (JJJ)? Still open for business.
Your first hint! Pete was right; "Rock Your Baby" may have seemed like a great choice--it was my true honest #1 fave back when this was compiled, but there are songs that are definitely bigger classics, to weigh things out.

OK, I was waaaaay off base. I thought I remembered you saying on YL that "American Pie" was at #1 on your list. It's not listed here, though, so that must not be it...
So let me go on record as saying I have no clue.

So let me go on record as saying I have no clue. Hmmm...I have no recollection of ever saying that on YL. I really love that tune, and it IS top 20. But just not #1. Now do you wanna guess....even ANYTHING....Jonathan's mom... ;D

I will now say at least one person is correct.
SO in addition to George McCrae, it is NOT the Eagles or the Stones. This is getting fun!

I am kinda guessing "The Twist" based on your 1st clue (which I didn't read very carefully the first time).

I guess the part about me being Jonathan's mom (which I am proud to be ) is the 2nd clue. But I'm still not getting it. I thought, well, there's a particular song that says "Mama mia, mama mia", but then I looked at your list again, and a DIFFERENT Queen song is represented, not that one. So I'm stuck.

Nothing in that post was a clue. Hi Jonathan!
