Wow, these polls are going by quickly!! I wish I had the time to plan out these groupings better, but I just don't.
Going with Three Dog Night. VH deserves it more, but Dogs were around first.

"Cat" vs. "Dogs"? Now that's cute. I voted for 3DN also.

Much better group than last time.
Van Halen won me over, followed by Boz, Blondie and Linda.

The Dogs without a question. At least as influential as, say, Steely Dan or The Spoonful.
VH should get in eventually. Blondie? Maybe, but not that much staying power. Tull ditto. Boz, two tiers too low.
Chapin would be an intersting choice. How many story tellers are there in the Hall? (Can't really see him going in though)
Linda? Only if they have a special "I can sing that song too" section.
Yusef? The year after Osama gets in.

Becker & Fagen were talented musicians who wrote brilliant songs. Whereas the Dogs (and you all know I love both acts!) did great 3 part harmony with their interpertations of others' songs. Blondie & Boz were Dave's suggestions. Chapin I thought of after I heard a lot of praise from his contemporaries. Linda I was thinking because her vocal style influenced people. If you say yes to the Dogs (who didn't write their own) why not Linda? Unless the negative is that she covered established hits of the Everlys, Buddy, Stones, etc. That's what's hurting her, Joe Cocker, Johnny Rivers. Oh, and Michael Bolton. And Osama will go in after Hitler in the mass murderers Hall.

Yes... that's the difference. I don't think you necessarily have to write your own songs (If you do, maybe you should go in as a writer), it's when all your songs are covers of established hits, I think your ability to really be an influence is much lowered. -- and why SHOULDN'T Michael Bolton get in the Hall just like anyone else who buys a ticket. -- Nah... in his case, he should have to pay double.

I think they should pay HIM to be at the Hall! I hear there is an opening at the sno cone counter.....

From this group, I've gotta go with Van Halen, with Blondie a very close second. Debbie... *sigh*

Went with Three Dog Night first. A long string of hits. Harry & Van Halen would be next.

This was a hard one for me. My personal fave to go in would be Boz of course, but I think Three Dog Night probably deserve to go in before him.
3rd place would be Blondie.

Again, going with the girl rockers here - Blondie.
Of course, the other band members are male, but Deborah Harry IS Blondie. Come on.
