Back in the late 70's I read Rock Scene , Hit Parader and Creem . I have a large collection of them now so I still enjoy reading the old articles. I didn't start reading Rolling Stone until the 80's . I have a large collection but sold a whole bunch a short while ago because they were taking over the house LOL
I also like to read Mojo , Record Collector , Uncut , Goldmine and Discoveries.

Hey Ken. I never read one magazine specifically. If it caught my eye, I go it. There was one magazine, I think it was called Video Rock Stars, or something similar, that I had like 3 issues of. I have a few Hit Paraders and Creams.
My ex girlfriend got me a subscription to Rolling Stone in like 89.
But without a doubt, the best rock mag I have ever read is Goldmine! Where else can you read about Helloween in the new century! LOL!!!

Discoveries is OK but I like Goldmine better because they have more articles.

I totally agree and was gonna say that! The only issue I have is the one with Buffalo Springfield on the cover, and there wasn't much in there beyone that one article!

Well...when I was a leetle girl (Various ages/times between age 4 and 10) I was allowed to read and even used to "inherit" copies of *16* and *Tiger Beat* mags from various teenagers the family knew. None from my sibs though: The two eldest were into folk music, and my other brother thought these mags were for nothing more than mockery! (Many people, I know, would agree. LOL!) Anyway, I remember that these mags always had features like "Win a date with..." or "What I like in a girl...by" The earliest ones I saw featured *tantilizing info* about each of The Beatles, (And *sigh* Herman's Hermits! ), and the last ones yakked about Bobby Sherman and The Osmonds. In between there were groups such as Paul Revere and The Raiders (Especially *sigh again* Mark Lindsey) and The Grass Roots.. Oh! And The Monkees! (Especially Davy Jones! I can NOT believe I missed all those years the fact that he and I had the same birthday!) The latest mag I've read with any sort of celeb info (Music or non) was Biography; however, I let my subscription lapse...

I mostly read Hit Parader throughout the 80's, but I was mostly a hard rock/metal guy at the time. For several years I never missed an issue, at least until the "happy metal" genre took over!
Rolling Stone was good, I read a lot of issues because my sister subscribed.
Occasionally I'd buy a Creem or Circus. But now I buy nothing.. Unless Goldmine has an interesting article on an artist I like.

I had a subscription to "Creem" and I use to read "Song Hits". Now, I just look on the Internet for interesting music news.

Well, like Rali, I used to read 16, and Tiger Beat. And a few other of those "teenybopper" mags. Teen Scene, Teen Beat, and Flip were some of the other ones I remember. I was a David Cassidy and Donny Osmond junkie back then, so I read everything I could get my hands on that had articles about them. ;D As I got older and wiser ( ), I started reading Hit Parader and Creem. Oh how I wish Creem was still in existence. Great magazine! I also read CD Review quite a bit. Nowadays I read Rolling Stone and Spin. Just got a subscription to Women Who Rock. Never even heard of this magazine, but saw an ad for it in some other magazine. Sounded like something I'd like, so I thought I'd give it a try. My first issue came in the mail the other day, and one of my faves, Joan Jett, is on the cover! Very good magazine. I'm glad I subscribed.

Yeah, Joan today sure doesn't look like the Joan of old. LOL! When I got the magazine in the mail the other day, I was really surprised to see Joan on the cover. The article about her was pretty interesting. Lots of other good articles inside, too. I'm pretty happy with it, and look forward to the next issue.

Hi Rali - I remember my cousin having a large collection of Tiger Beat Mags back in the early to mid 70's . She had a big crush on Donny.

I had a subscription to Rolling Stone briefly back in the mid-to-late '80s, but I haven't really kept up with any of the music magazines regularly since then. I do like to look through some of them at the magazine section in Barnes & Noble, though, and in the past year or so, I've bought several issues with articles on Brian Wilson - Tracks, Paste, two Mojos, Q, etc.

I had a subscription to Billboard from October 1989 till November 1999. The magazine WAS the gospel for me ever since discovering it in book stores around 1981. I've also read Cash Box and Rolling Stone in the stores often, and for whatever reason, my dad subscribed me to Spin from 1998 till 2000 (yuck). Nowadays, because of changing music trends since the late 90's, I hardly ever read Billboard.

I used to get Contemporary Christian Music magazine, and then sometimes I'd buy Harvest Rock Syndicate (another Christian one) or Billboard, and I always browsed through Rolling Stone and whatever else looked interesting when I found them in stores or libraries. Nowadays, I don't subscribe to any of them and rarely even browse thru 'em. (I'm boring, aren't I/ j/k )
