Didn't see it, but I heard one DJ mention Foxx should get an Academy Award for it.

For what it's worth, the ONLY thing I've heard about this movie is that Jamie Foxx is "ABSOLUTELY convincing!" in it.
But I'm afraid my review will have to wait 'til the DVD comes out..(sorry)

Btw, I have heard--from more than one source--that he lip-synced all the songs EXCEPT two and that he did such a good job on those that no one can "spot" which ones they are. I don't know if this is true or just a promotional urban legend, but Jamie Foxx has a good voice so I'm willing to believe it. I do know he really plays the keyboards/piano though (In real life--I'm not sure about in the movie, but I think he does--at least at some point/s) and that he had the chance to play some with Ray before his passing as Ray was actually involved in the casting of this movie (But you probably already knew that) |
