Well, I guess yesterday tanked.

This is the song I was going to go with before I changed my mind. Maybe I shouldn't have changed it.

So here it is, an oldie, but a goodie. It has some dated references, but to me the general message is still relevant today.

It has an infectious backbeat that reminds me of the ticking of a clock.

My Opinion In A Nutshell: Excluding a few dated references, the basic message still holds true: The more things change, the more they stay the same. We're making advances some places, and ignoring other areas completely.

Favorite Line: "Grandmas sit in chairs and reminisce" - I don't think that will ever change.

I think you nailed it Railyn. The more things change, the more they stay the same. However, I don't think that Sonny did such a great job with the lyrics. It's almost like he sat down and said. OK I'm going to make a list of things that changed, and another list of things that stay the same. Now I'm going to pick the ones I can rhyme, and now I'm going to put 'em to music.

Yeah, no one ever accused Sonny of being a great singer/songwriter. ;D I mostly enjoy the infectious beat, but the core message isn't too bad.

As H2 said, I think you've nailed it. The fads and inventions keep changing, but the basics in life, such as falling in love and reminiscing, remain the same for generation after generation. I agree that the beat is reminiscent of a clock ticking. Great choice!

I've always liked it. Like I said, some of the references are dated, but all in all it's still a good song.

Now I've got all weekend to come up with some more songs.....
