We were talking about this song recently, and I found the lyrics in Spanish, a translation in English, and the lyrics to "Touch the Wind" (same melody, but TOTALLY different lyric).

Aren't those nice words? Now here's the "Touch the Wind" lyrics, which I would probably like better if I _didn't _ know the Spanish lyrics and what they mean. The first time I read the lyrics to this version, I was really disappointed. I thought, "That's not the way that song goes!!!!" It's a lot more downbeat (although I do like the line "catch my love as it goes sailing"). Here it is:

In case you're wondering, I had 3 years of Spanish in high school and 2 or 3 years in college. It was one of my best subjects, but now I don't always remember everything I've learned. These days it's easier for me to interpret written Spanish--or song lyrics, if they don't go by too fast!--than it is talking. I was able to figure out about 3/4 of this song and looked up the rest--then took notes, in the hope of singing it sometime.
I don't know how many karaoke places have foreign song lyrics, though (and I'd much rather do the Spanish version).
BTW, Ed, or anyone else who's heard the "Touch the Wind" version, does it use the exact same instrumental backing? To me, the instrumental part is very soaring and triumphant, and it sounds to me like it fits better with the Spanish lyrics.
BTW, if you'll read the info on www.mocedades.com, the group is still around! How about that! I think there have been a lot of personnel changes, though. It said something about them doing an album of Disney songs--that would be fun!
