October 22, 1962 - Marvin Gaye made his first network TV appearance singing Stubborn Kind Of Fellow on American Bandstand. We had no idea at the time, but we also saw the first network television appearance of another Motown act. Marvin’s backup group, Martha & The Vandellas, sang behind him on Stubborn Kind Of Fellow on the show, then sang what would become their own first hit record, although nobody knew at the time - even Motown - that the song Martha & The Vandellas sang on Bandstand that afternoon would even be released. Six months later, we all knew the group, and the song, Come And Get These Memories by Martha & The Vandellas.

Haven't heard "Come and get these memories" in a long time! Nice song. I don't think I've ever heard "Stubborn kind of fellow".

Two legendary Motown artists! Both Stubborn Kind of Fellow and Come & Get These Memories are so overlooked on oldies stations today.
