December 21, 1970 - This was the day Elvis Presley visited with President Richard Nixon at the White House, offering his services to combat the drug problems in America. Elvis told Nixon he blamed The Beatles for the problems and asked to be named a "Special Federal Agent In Charge" to bring the drug problem under control. Elvis didn't just want to send 'em to the county jail. He wanted those dope smokin’ hippies in a federal prison.

Funny, considering his own drug problems.

I remember seeing pictures of this session with Nixon in one of the music documentaries, but hadn't known that Elvis had initiated the meeting - interesting!
