EC, like Macca the year before, should've went in a year or 2 sooner. The man has been in countless great bands and is a guitar god. Earth, Wind & Fire I love (I always go back and forth with the Spinners as my fave 70s soul act) but I wonder why they went in so quickly and it took so long for the O'Jays and STILL no sign of the Spinners? Spoonful is good but why them and not so many other great 60s acts? Certainly not in the category of the Byrds or Buffalo Springfield, it's good they at least waited. The Moonglows, I don't konw, there's so many doowop acts. Like the Spoonful, at least they waited. Bonnie I have great respect for her slide playing but again, so soon? (Where is Connie??) JT again I figured he'd go in for his writing, but it seemed soon, although it was about 30 years. If I had to ditch one, it would probably be The Moonglows.
I'm surprised with Nat and Billie in as influences that they haven't tried to get Frankie in since they were all pre-rock mainstream pop.
This was the first year for the Sidemen category which was a great idea. Just think James Burton, who played with both The King and Ricky, should have went in this first year, not next.

Overall, a good group.
Mixed reactions on the main performers--I like EWF, but again, surprised they went in so fast. JT & EC--YES! Lovin' Spoonful, I guess had a rather unique jug band sound that influenced others, but still, a good group anyway. The Moonglows weren't real influential, but still had some classics, notably Sincerely. And Bonnie? Cannot see it whatsoever. I take her out at the drop of a hat.

Eric, about time, what took them so long. J.T. no argument here, love his music. Lovin' Spoonful, I can see them here, but maybe not before other artists we've seen on Adam's polls. EWF, one of the best R&B groups, definately belong. Moonglows, good group. Bonnie, not so sure about.

Nat and Billie hadn't gotten in yet? Now that's a shame.

Another solid class of inductees. Glad to see Hal Blaine in the sidemen category - he has played on an amazing number of recordings, and definitely deserves recognition for that. Not sure if Carole Kaye has been inducted in that category yet, but if not, she belongs there as well. As far as eliminating one, for me it would be either the Moonglows or Bonnie - some great output from them, but maybe not quite Hall material.

EC - The same question most are asking.... Why so long?
EWF - Never cared for their style, but I do respect them. They deserved the induction.
Spoonful - One of the folk-rock leaders. Since the Mamas and Papas are in, they deserve to go also.
Moonglows - Good doo wop group, but I have no idea why they got singled out for inclusion.
Bonnie Raitt - Kinda became a cult hero in the recent past (past ten years). But I don't see how that makes her an icon.
JT - I could go either way here.
Nat King Cole - Why as an influence? He was MOR/AC DURING the first decade of the rock era.
Billie - Lady sings the Blues. Most definitely.
