At 8 entrants, this is the most for one year since 1994. Aerosmith, although I'm not a huge fan, you had to figure. Weathered changes, had a huge comeback, still making hits. Solomon Burke to me is like so many other solo soul acts-I personally don't know what they did that sets them apart. The Flamingos-I don't have a problem with groups like them and The Moonglows going in, since they are going in pretty late, but when are they gonna go back and start doing that for other acts that maybe weren't worthy their first couple of years of eligibility? Michael Jackson. All I have to say is, if Pete Rose, the all time hit leader, not to mention holder of countless other records can't go in the Baseball Hall, Michael's privledge's should be revoked. I know, apples and oranges. But I'd rather find out my neighbor was a gambler than inviting the neighborhood kiddies over. Queen, yet another example of an artist I didn't think of until they went in. No problem with them. Paul Simon, you had to figure. Actually surprised JT went in first. No disappointed as I like JT way more. Steely is kindof an enigma. They are respected by critics-but they're not. Just glad they are recognized although you NEVER hear other artists singing their praise. After Santana went in, I got to thinking Ritchie needed to go in. Not before Santana, but he needed to be acknowledged as the "roots" of Latinos in Rock-n-Roll.
James Burton, a year too late. And the recently deceased Johnnie deserved it for all his work with Chuck.
The only Chris Blackwell I know played with Robert Plant for several albums!
