Boring year as far as the secondary categories (who the hell is Jann Wenner?). I had wondered if Jackson would go in, and it seems right that they waited the time they did. But again, before.......? The Dells-were they REALLY that significant? I actually wondered if George was gonna go in. I actually sat and thought what would they say were the reasons (not because of me, but because of THEIR thinking). Anyway, I'm glad they did acknowledge his greatness. Surprised it was this soon, but maybe because he died a few years before? Prince-he's a freak, but I did like his peak output. Don't dispute his placement in the Hall, but not this soon and I got SO sick of hearing how he stole the show at the ceremony. Seger-my thinking of him was the same as my thinking of Jackson Browne. His lyrics was less thought provoking, but evoked that middle America life. Probably could've waited a year or two. Traffic-I think they almost went in several years earlier. They do belong and they waited long enough. Very cool jazz-rock. ZZ Top-another one I thought of in an "oh yeah" kinda way. They have stood the test of time with the original lineup, but NOT before Skynyrd. No way.

Better than last year, IMO.
I'd take out the Dells, if given a choice. They did last a long time, however, and created the DooWop classic Oh what a nite. Actually surprised George had to wait this long, but then again, Paul had been past due.
Prince, no question. A great blend of 80's R & B, funk and pop.
Bob and Jackson I liked both equally, so not surprising they went in together. Bob coulda gone in earlier as well.
Traffic, cool thing! If not Steve Winwood solo, this is just as fine.
And ZZ Top--YES!!!!!!!! (based on personal taste) But I WILL agree about Skynyrd STILL not in.

Four of my favorite artists here in what is a pretty strong lineup. George is in a couple of years late, but so was Paul. Will Ringo ever get in?
While I think Lynyrd Skynyrd is overdue for induction, ZZ Top was overdue as well. Love their music.
So many great songs Jackson & Bob, went in probably about the right time.
Prince, was surprised he went in this year, but he certainly deserves the honor.
Traffic should have gone in a few years ago, so this is "bout time"
Dells, I know little beyond Oh What a Night.

One of the stronger classes in the past several years. Great to see Jackson, George, Bob, and Traffic finally getting in, and ZZ Top and Prince are deserving as well, although I would have liked to have seen a few other artists in first. The Dells are probably the weakest contender.

I must have skipped right over this the other day. Jackson Browne - I think deserves it, but perhaps this was a little to soon. Dells - Had a long doo wop/R&B career and, I believe, were extremely well recognized in those areas. They waited a long time, and I believe deserved a bid. Their unedited version of "Stay In My Corner" is dynamite. George - It took 34 years to recognize him as a soloist. Probably the Hall's way of saying 'you were a brilliant performer, but you were not a John and you were not a Paul.' Too bad they waited till after he was dead. Prince - I figured he'd go in eventually, but this was way too soon. He has been far too self-promoting. Seger - Been around long enough, but I still can't see it. Traffic - Really never followed them, but they seem deserving. ZZ Top - I've never been a fan of theirs; their sound kinda leaves me cold (even though I like several bands with similar sounds), so I can't agree with their inclusion. But then I know a lot of people love them, so I can see why they're in.
