Good topic, Dave. I know I've seen it before, either here many years ago or on RL. My memory is like a sieve.
Anyway --- I'll pick my worst song by my most beloved artists:
Roy Orbison - Hello Mary Lou (Most of you have probably never heard it's version It's awful (In fact, while Roy does a great job on some old standards (Scarlett Ribbons, Oh Danny Boy, Dream), his biggest weakness, IMO, is covering Rock Era hits from other artists)
The Eagles - Seven Bridges Road
The Platters - With This Ring (Well, it WAS the Post - Tony Williams Platters)
The Beatles - Let It Be (sounds like a funeral dirge)
Three Dog Night - Black and White (sing-songy and an over obvious message given a lot better spin , IMO, by Paul and Stevie in Ebony and Ivory years later)

Huge Springsteen fan, but "I'm On Fire", "Pink Cadillac" and "Dancing In The Dark" are not his best efforts.
Beatles songs I can't stand: "Come Together", "I Am The Walrus" and "Eight Days A Week".

I have to agree about Hole in the World. I tried and tried to like that song, but it just never clicked with me for some reason.
I'm a huge Beatles fan, but I've never cared for Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Yer Blues or Mr. Moonlight.
Ditto the Beach Boys - love most of their stuff, but cannot stand The TM Song (and Brian had a co-write credit on this - he was capable of so much better!), or most of the songs on the Summer in Paradise album.

Sometimes it's a band's decline and not just "clinkers". I just don't like Pink Floyd after "Dark Side", or the Moodies after "Seventh Sojourn", or the Beach Boys after "Surf's Up", or the Stones after "Some Girls".

Yes, that's the case for me with Chicago. They were awesome up until 1978, still mostly enjoyable up to 1984, but I have a hard time getting into their music after that, as it has a very bland, generic quality that I don't like. Some of the cuts on XXX are better, though, more like their earlier sound.

Yeah I coulda put in Chicago too, except it would have to say, after their very first album. (except for "25 or 6 to 4" on their 2nd album).

The second disc loses momentum from tracks 12 - 20. I just can't listen to those later tracks.
