A SMALL handful Wow! I have a few "series" of CDs (I've redone the tapes to CDs also) that I make: No One Else Remembers - Songs that got limited airplay back in the day, (rarely made the top 20) but have totally disappeared from sight. Never made the Top 20 - Songs that would make people say "what do you mean they never made the top 20; they HAD to have made the top 20 (e.g., Michelle, In the Still of The niight, Good Old Rock and Roll) Play It Again - two or more versions of the same song All Top 10; All Forgotten Point and Click - Songs i first heard about from you guys. Then some more mundane mixes of '50s,, '60s. '70s, 'early '80s, late '80s, and early '90s. From Andrew Collection - Mixes of the songs my son collects

You've come up with some great theme ideas, JBD.
Some compilations I plan to put together:
Lesser-known versions of popular songs (I need a catchier title for this one!): For example, Shuggie Otis' original Strawberry Letter 23, Gloria Jones' Tainted Love, Fleetwood Mac's Sentimental Lady, KC & the Sunshine Band's Rock Your Baby, etc.
Time to Play B-Sides Inspired by the Blue Oyster Cult song lyric! Great B-sides of 45s, like Dave Mason's Mystic Traveller, Paul McCartney & Wings' Nineteen Hundred Eighty-Five, The Monkees' The Girl I Knew Somewhere, etc.

I've made dozens of CDs (and billions & billions of cassettes) on many subjects.
I've made CDs about:
100 mph songs Radio (songs with radio in the title or lyrics) Click Tourney Winners Planes, Trains, & Automobiles Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda (Similar to Dawn's Lesser theme) - songs that either didn't crack the top 40 or didn't get any higher than 30 on the chart Earth, Wind, & Fire - Not the group, but songs with these elements in the title. Do's & Don'ts of Rock - Songs that have "Do" or "Don't" in the title Rock 'n' Roll All Night Party Every Day Blue, Blue Feeling - Celebrating the color blue I've done CDs with just guy singers or just girl singers I did one called "Instrumentally Non-Speaking that I gave to my daughter.
And many many more. This is a great topic jdb, because of the endless available themes, and music to go with them.

whew! for a while there, i thought i was the only one who made these things!... Don't worry jbd, you are not the only one. I was putting tapes together as a teenager. The only difference now is I don't put a small microphone next to the radio & be quiet for an hour.

The only difference now is I don't put a small microphone next to the radio & be quiet for an hour. LOL! That's what I was doing in the '60s, only it was a reel to reel recorder. I'd get so ticked off when the DJ talked over the beginning or the ending of the song.
