I have just burned Vol 8 of this series, but I don't think I've ever posted Vol 7. So I'll post this one first, and then follow with Vol 8 in a few days. Play It Again Volume 7: The first set of four involves a little cheating as the songs segue from Baby I Love Your Way into Freebird with the Will To Power Medley providing the transition. ... and Do Ya really represents two periods of the same group. ELO was the Move before they became ELO. (There's also a little Kylie for Juggie BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY/FREEBIRD 1. Peter Frampton (Baby) (4:45) 2. Big Mountain (Baby) (4:27) 3. Will To Power (Medley - Free Baby) (4:08) 4. Lynyrd Skynyrd (Freebird) (9:07) LUCKY LIPS 5. Cliff Richard (2:42) 6. Ruth Brown (2:09) SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU 7. Skyliners (2:40) 8. Don McLean (2:36) 9. Guns N' Roses (4:19) TEARS ON MY PILLOW 10. Kylie Minogue (2:28) 11. Little Anthony & The Imperials (2:18) DO YA 12. Electric Light Orchestra (3:47) 13. The Move (4:13) MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF 14. Jerry Butler (2:36) 15. The Walker Brothers (3:16) BABY, IT'S YOU 16. The Shirelles (2:44) 17. The Beatles (2:38) 18. Smith (3:27) THERE SHE GOES 19. Sixpence None the Richer (2:39) 20. The Las (2:42) CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE 21. Slade (4:30) 22. Quiet Riot (4:49)

I like this concept, Ed. It's interesting to hear different artists' interpretations of the same song.
I didn't realize Guns 'N Roses had ever covered Since I Don't Have You - interesting! I'll have to see if I can find a clip of their version somewhere.

And IMO, the song interpretation suffers somewhat from "heard it third" syndrome.

Thanks, Alan, I did not know that. When I started burning "Play It Again" CDs a few years ago, originally I was looking only for originals and covers where all were hits. Later I started adding songs where a cover was a hit, but the original was fairly obscure. It has eventually turned into a hodgepodge of whatever comes into my feeble mind at the time.
