to listen to. I save Pepsi Stuff points for free downloads, plus I am on a Beta Testing board for Microsoft, and I get free downloads for helping them out - it's a good deal.
So anyway, Pepsi Stuff goes through Amazon. I get an e-mail occasionally from them telling me to check out their download page, and today I got another so I went to look.
They offer free downloads for unknown/up-and-coming artists. I decided to give them a listen, and I liked a few of them.
This is the link (hope it works):

I downloaded:
Blank + Jones - "Breakout"
It's an instrumental - it's got that techno/dj sound. I don't like a steady diet of that, but it's interesting.
Fred Everything - "Stay feauring Tim Fuller"
It somewhat reminds me vaguely of early Prince (like I Wanna Be Your Lover), but not really. It's hard to describe, but has that mid-80's r&b synth vibe. It's not bad.
Marah - "Freedom Park"
I liked the little blip they allowed you to preview, but I'm not totally sold on the whole song yet - it may have to grow on me. If it doesn't, at least it was free.
The New Mastersounds - "Thermal Bad"
Another instrumental. It has a late 60's funky sound. Heavy on guitar. Again, it's not bad.
The Pillcrushers - "Is It True"
Has a bit of an Oasis-ish sound. As of right now, I kind of like it. As with one of the previously mentioned ones, if it doesn't grow on me, no money lost.
They have a bunch of free tracks. Most of them I never heard of and I don't have the energy tonight to really listen to the previews to see if any grab me. The only problem is that a bunch on their free list really aren't free. They come up as free because they don't have a price assigned to them. They are tracks that can only be downloaded as an entire album.
So if you're bored and looking for new stuff, it's worth a look. They update the freebies frequently.
