Got a zillion things to do this week, so I relied on an old favorite this time.
No doubt about it, ABBA was the king of the promo video. They had tons of them. And I own most of them. ABBA was no flash-in-the-pan or one-hit-wonder, but they did not survive into the MTV era (albeit for largely personal reasons), so I'll include them.
Back before most people were doing videos at all, and the ones that were out were largely just performance footage, ABBA tried to have some entertainment value.
This was no major hit for them. It came out post-divorce, and when they were at the end of their run, but it's a decent song, and my favorite video of theirs. And I'll forgive Anifrid for the "interesting" hairdo:
Enjoy and discuss 1983's "Head Over Heels"!

Hey Railyn,
I've never heard that Abba track before, it's very good! The last hit I remember hearing was The Winner Takes it All.
At first, I didn''t realize just how many videos Abba did, I remember seeing a couple in the 70's (I recall one was shown on either the Mike Douglas Show or Merv Griffin).

Yikes! Her hair IS scary!
I'm not a big ABBA fan, but I admit, it's not a bad song...

That's an intriguing video. It's a shame that the song wasn't a bigger hit, as it sounds very in step with the music of 1983.
There were indeed some strange hairdos back then. I remember some of the girls at my high school had a hairstyle similar to Anni-frid's!

I must admit that the date of 1983 was bugging me, so I did my digging. I was off by 2 years. The proper release date should be 1981, and it's off their final studio album, The Visitors. It never charted in the US. The highest it got in the UK was 25.
I didn't discover this one until the late 80's, when I got the Thank You For The Music boxed set, and I was hooked. I got their 2-volume video set a few months later, and I just adored the video.
Glad I could turn people on to a new song! ;D
