Love this mix. There are some of these versions I have never heard before. Are some of these still in print?

Great mix, Woody. Like Dave, there are some versions of songs I'm not familiar with, like Alabama's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Elvin Bishop's Silent Night, but from what I know of their other work, I think they'd be very good. I just heard Alabama's Christmas in Dixie a few evenings ago in a restaurant, and I've always liked that one.

Alabama's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree & Elvin Bishop's Silent Night are off a CD called Southern Rock Christmas. I got this CD 2 years ago from Amazon. Run Rudolph Run, Winter Wonderland, & Joy to the World are from the same CD.

As for you question, hard to answer. With the exception of the Mannheim Steamroller & Westwind Ensemble songs, the others are off Various Artists CDs that I've collected over the years. Some I've had forever (or so it seems), and others are recent purchases. Three songs in particular, the Trevor Rabin, Alex Lifeson, & Richie Sambora songs, sent me on a 2+ year search for the CD. The CDs are called Merry Axemas: A Guitar Christmas & Merry Axemas 2: More Guitars for Christmas. A local radio station played the Sambora song, and gave details of the CD. I searched every new & used CD stores, libraries, Amazon (twice), before finally getting both at Amazon, the 2nd time. These two CDs also include the Steve Morse, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvin Bishop, & Brian Setzer songs. The songs with an obvious southern rock sound to them (see my reply to Dawn & Ken) are from a CD I got from Amazon called Southern Rock Christmas. Others are from CDs I got from Wal-Mart or Best Buy that were year specific & may be hard to find. Please tell which songs you're interested in & I'll give you the CD title so you can at least try to find them, somewhere.

I have found that the local library is a good source of out of print Christmas CDs. Mostly because they never get rid of anything. But you have to rip or burn them out of season because they are never available at Christmas time. Used CD joints are another treasure trove of out of print CDs.
