At any given concert you have ever been to....what is the funniest/craziest/ most memorable thing you have seen take place....not by the band, but rather the crowd or any fan?
I can pick out a few.....the most memorable, the girl who streaked through the crowd at a Billy Idol concert. Yes....during "Hot in the City", this girl took it all off and began to run down the center aisle on the floor. Pretty much everybody "got a show" before security got her.
At a Billy Joel concert, there was a very large guy who had quite a few to drink, and treated everybody in the section to a belly dance. One of those, "you had to see it" to believe it.
At a Grateful Dead show.....enough said. A really big biker looking guy began to give a deep feeling lyrical interperatation of the various songs....the guy looked big enough to break a car in half...yet he was getting choked up during "Looks Like Rain"...tears and all!
Plenty more but I'll leave it at that.

Plenty more but I'll leave it at that. I don't believe I can top the guy at the Grateful Dead show. But here's a funny story. I went with two friends to see R.E.M. at what was once called Great Woods in Mansfield, MA. This was back in June 1995 on the bands' Monster tour. The show was sold out. Singer Michael Stipe was in a bit of a prickly mood. He noticed one concertgoer sitting down watching the show. Well, our bald headed friend felt the person wasn't into the show. At one moment the R.E.M. frontman began betating the person, "What the f...! This isn't a Montovani concert! I'm sure some of the people on the lawn would love to have your seat!" Keep in mind I was on the lawn seats and the crowd ate this up. But to hear a singer go off the handle on some innocent person who PAID for their seat seemed a bit absurd!

Well I'm probably the craziest thing I saw at a concert. In 1973, my friends and I were stoned out of our minds on LSD at an outdoor Pink Floyd concert. Halfway thru, a plane flew overhead, and right then as it was over us it started to rain. So we were yelling, the FBI was seeding the clouds to make it rain, they'd stop at nothing to get rid of us. Though craziest (but not in a funny way) was in 1971 some friends and I went to Tucson for a Joan Baez benefit for the farmworkers. There'd been some rioting the previous nights, and something might have happened while the concert was going on, cuz everything had been OK when we entered the concert, but when we came out, there were police everywhere. They were making all exiters go just one way thru one exit, cops on the streets prowling in cars, and two helicopters beaming searchlights on the crowds. We had to walk many blocks to get to where we'd parked. Policemen all the way.
