I thought of this after that little bit on The Bullboard where Juggie made a comment about not wearing a Speedo, and I answered by saying something about it really being Mister Earl. Joe got the reference.
And that made me think of songs that have lyrics that basically say things like "even though my real name is Charlie, all my friends call me Bob".
I can think of three of them right off the top of my head:
1. Speedoo - The Cadillacs ("Oh well they often call me Speedoo but my real name is Mister Earl")
2. Linda Lu - Ray Sharpe (I think Foghat did this also) ("Well they call my baby Patty (or Betty) but her real name, her real name her real name is Linda Lu")
3. Rocky Racoon - The Beatles ("Her name was McGill, she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy.")
Can you think of any others?
