Once again, an excellent mix of tunes!
The only songs I'm not familiar with are Hank Williams Jr's Montana Cafe and Waylon's Bob Wills is Still The King.

Feels So Right - Alabama 20. Babe - Styx Good group of songs here, Woody! Some of my all time top 500 (Reason To Believe, Lay Lady Lay, Lyin' Eyes, Sunny Afternoon, and Babe) Other most favorite song by a particular artist incude: Rikki Don't Lose That Number and Fernando. I'm also unfamiliar with the two that Ken mentioned, and I'm also drawing a blank on Louisiana Rain. The only thing that surprises me Woody, is there's no Metallica on there! (A little Facebook humor)

Ed, at least you got a group you'd heard of! (BTW, I listened to that Blue October song "Hate Me" - yikes! ) I concur with Ken and Ed that this is a great mix. I'm familiar with some of Waylon's catalog (my dad was/is a fan, so I heard him quite often growing up), but that particular track isn't ringing a bell, at least by title. Nice to see the Alabama track included. They were huge when I was in high school, and I had a couple of their albums (a friend gave me the LP of Feels So Right for Christmas one year). It's been a while since I've listened to them, but every so often I'll get the urge to listen to some older country. Much of it has held up very well. My favorite tracks here would be Rikki, California Dreamin', Lay Lady Lay and A Horse With No Name.

For those folks who either aren't on Facebook, aren't Facebook friends (who are you?, send me a friend request), or just haven't seen the thread - FB has this feature What Music Group are You? (I may not have the title exactly right.) Anyway, you answer about 6 multiple choice questions, and the FB application then tell you "who" you are. Anyway, both Woody and I found out much to our surprise that we are both Metallica! - even though we both said we preferred Rock to Metal. Dawn got this group called "Blue October", who she had never heard of, and who she apparently doesn't much care for, now that she's sampled some of their music. - Y'know, Dawn, a group that has a song called "Hate Me", doesn't quite sound like you! Of course we can look at the bright side. At least none of us got Lynn Puppette or Dave B. Rabbitt.

This link will take you to Montana Cafe. Not much of video, just the album cover, but you can hear the song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOYWRgBKCWcThis one takes you to Bob Wills is Still the King. Little more to this video. You actually see Bob Wills. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxHu_71sU1EEd, the version of Louisiana Rain is from Tom Petty's box set Playback. The versions on youtube is not the same as on this CD, but here's the Damn the Torpedoes version. The song doesn't really start until about a minute ten into the song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_td-Li1auAkAs for the Metallica thing, I think that poll was skewed against those of us that are more classic than others. When we click rock, we expect groups like Beatles, Stones, Who, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Led Zep, etc. It seems to me that rock music on some of these social networking websites is very different from rock & roll music really is. It may be very similar to where oldies radio is going today. Don't get me wrong, I like Metallica, I've got Metallica in my library, but somehow, they aren't the band I am. And I did listen to a Blue October song, and they are not a group I would be either. Further skewing the poll. Oh well, I've editorialized enough. Enjoy the songs. And the real reason to join facebook.com and become my friend there, is to see pictures of my grandson. He's a cutie.
