I thought I would revive this thread! Today as the title states. I've gone through my cassettes and picked this: Title:The Monkees - The Best Of Cassette Type: Maxell XLII - 90min Dolby: Yes (Dolby B) It still plays great All songs were taken from the "Listen To The Band" box set. The cassette was made not too long after I purchased the box back in 1991. I, along with my brother were doing the music for a family wedding around this time. One of our cousins came up to me at one point in the night while we were playing a track from the box and wanted to borrow it, I told him that I really didn't want to lend it out, BUT that I would make a mix tape of the tunes for him. The cassette was a copy of this, he LOVED it! Side A 1.Sweet Young Thing 2.Last Train To Clarksville 3.You Just May Be The One 4.A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You 5.Mary Mary 6.What Am I Doing Hangin' Round? 7.Lookout, Here Comes Tomorrow 8.Valeri 9.Pleasant Valley Sunday 10.Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day 11.Daydream Believer 12.For Pete's Sake 13.Sunny Girlfriend 14.The Door into Summer 15. I'm a Believer 16.I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone 17.You Told Me 18. Nine Times Blue Side B 1.She 2.Theme From "The Monkees" 3.Star Collector 4.I'll Be Back Upon My Feet 5.Words 6.Sometime In The Morning 7.The Girl I Knew Somewhere 8.No Time 9.Shades Of Gray 10.Love is Only Sleeping 11.She Hangs Out 12.Forget That Girl 13.That Was Then, This is Now 14.Steam Engine 15.Papa Gene's Blues 16.Daily Nightly That's it! Thoughts? comments?

A really good selection of songs here, Ken. This would be a great introduction to the band for fans who mainly know the hits, but would like to explore deeper. You've sequenced the tracks very well.
Many of my favorite Monkees tracks are on here - For Pete's Sake, A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You, The Girl I Knew Somewhere, Forget That Girl - and one I've really grown to like, Door Into Summer.
When Mark and I were driving the moving truck from VA to CA in May 2006, we heard That Was Then, This is Now on an oldies station out of New Mexico. I did a double-take, as that was the first (and only) time I'd heard that song on the radio since it was current back in '86!

I don't think I've heard That Was Then, This is Now on the radio since it was current either. I know that Ron has played the original version (by The Mosquitos) on "Crap From The Past."
