This was a feature one of the regular posters used to do on YL, and looking at the archived page that's mentioned in the discussion about the number of people who posted on YL's music board back in the day reminded me of it. Thought it might be interesting to borrow his idea for the Click.
Going through the alphabet, he'd list five artists, and then his five favorite songs by that artist. You can use the artists I list, or pick different ones if you like.
A: The Animals Help Me Girl Monterey Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood House of the Rising Sun It's My Life
B: Bread The Guitar Man Baby, I'm-A Want You Make It With You It Don't Matter to Me Aubrey
C: Crosby, Stills & Nash (& Young) Just A Song Before I Go Wooden Ships I Give You Give Blind Long Time Gone Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
D: Duran Duran Rio Save A Prayer Is There Something I Should Know? The Reflex I Don't Want Your Love
E: Electric Light Orchestra All Over the World Evil Woman Strange Magic So Fine Sweet Talkin' Woman (this was a hard one; any of five songs could have been in that fifth slot.)
How about you?

I like quite a few of the songs from their first couple of albums. Even my husband, the Van Halen / Def Leppard / Iron Maiden / AC/DC fan, had a couple of their cassettes back in the '80s. Great list of EWF songs...those would be among my favorites as well.

I remember buying a used 45 of it once, and unfortunately it was warped to the point I couldn't play it. I did get a better copy after that, though. I don't think I've heard much of Dream Theater, at least not that I know of. Are they alternative?

When I heard that for the first time, I was just blown away. Your Buffalo Springfield list is almost exactly like mine would look...the only difference would be that I would add Flying on the Ground is Wrong in place of I Am A Child.

Are they alternative? they're actually a progressive/metal band that started back around 1988. they're huge in the progressive rock industry, but they've only ever had one radio hit. their latest album, "black clouds and silver linings", just came out this past summer.

Yeah, awhile ago you had a post listing various songs, and we'd comment on them. You mentioned the Heebie Jeebies song, and I mentioned how the lead singer was flat and nasal for the first seconds of the song.

I remember back in the 70s I was having this dream about this friend of mine. In the dream he was wearing shorts and carrying a tennis racquet (he was a tennis player) and we were just talking. All of a sudden he starts singing "Nights on Broadway." -- It was actually coming from my clock radio which was waking me up! LOL!
