You need to look at the Making Lists One Song at a Time (MLOSAAT) Post on the Talkin' Board to see how we build this and other threads.
I'm starting (as I said on the Talkin Board) with Bryan Adams foir no good reason, other than I just heard this song over the weekend, and it is by far my favorite by him.
"Summer of '69." It peaked at #5 in the summer of '85. I always thought it was rather strange seeing that Bryan would have been only 10 years old in '69, and the character in the song had to be at least a few years older. It has, IMO, a beautiful melody though and very wistful lyrics that just carry me away.
"Standin' on a mama's porch You told me it would last forever Oh the way you held my hand I knew that it was now or never Those were the best days of my life"
So -- what's your favorite Bryan Adams song? Please answer in this thread. (Remember, you can also start your own thread with another artist! - in fact, please do.)

Actually, it's really hard for me to come up with just ONE as Bryan Adams is one of my favourite artists. One album that seems to stick with me is the album "18 Til I Die", which was released in 1996. I must have listened to that album a couple hundred times and it became a part of my high school soundtrack. This song especially was one I loved. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJZTxIAB_ew

My favorite is "Run to You." He has a number of good rockers, but this one always stood out the most to me.
I will add that I also always thought it was odd that Bryan's actual age in 1969 didn't match that of the character in the lyrics very well, but then again, the '60s were a popular retrospective topic in the '80s. (As a side note, now that we are in the '10s, I suspect we'll soon be seeing tributes to the '90s and re-emerging of the trends from that period...yikes, where does time go?).

I also recall a music critic at the time commenting about Bryan's actual age in '69. I have to admit that up until that point I had never thought about it, I just really loved the song lol! Like Jug, I'm a big fan of Bryan's so it's difficult to pick just one. The song I picked is a great track from the album Cuts Like a Knife "This Time" it reached #28 in Canada and #24 in billboard in 1983. "Cuts Like a Knife" was the first album of his that I bought. I bought it after seeing the videos of this as well as the title track on "Friday Night Videos" and a local video show called "Good Rockin' Tonight."

I always thought it should have done better chartwise than it did. Takes me right back to high school days when I hear it.

I've never been a much of a fan of Bryan Adams (I lump him in with the Springsteen, Melancamp, Cafferty-type performers. Not my style at all...). However, there are two songs I really like a lot: "Run To You" and "Somebody". Since Dawn already chose "Run To You", I'll go with "Somebody". Killer riff!!

I like this song also, Dawn. Bryan has the type of voice that is perfect for these kind of songs. Tributes to the '90s? Did anything even happen in the '90s?

I have this (and most of Bryan's hits) on mp3s.

I agree with the Mellencamp/Springsteen similarities, Pete,. Personally I've never minded that style, but I don't go crazy over it either. Here's a live version of Somebody.
