Great idea for a new series, Ed. Okay, love her or hate her, you can't deny that Madonna has made her mark on pop music. With her recent Hall of fame nomination and induction, as well as her "Celebration" greatest hits package, she's definitely made a name for herself. But, out of all the songs and hits she made over the years, which one do you enjoy the most? Mine's easy to pick out. The year was 1994, and Madonna released her "Bedtime Stories" album. In my opinion, the album was one of her best ones, and one of the only ones where I can sit and listen to the whole album straight through. But, the best song on that album was the final track. I could have done without the bedroom shots, but hey, this is Madonna we're talking about here. "Take A Bow" is definitely a song that I love.

My favorite Madonna song was a hit single, although probably not as well remembered today as many of her other tracks. It was the final single released from 1989's Like A Prayer.
This is probably an odd choice for someone who grew up without siblings, but I've always loved the melody and the message.

Hey Jug,
My favorite Madonna track is:
It reminds me of the early 60's "girl group" sound.

It's funny how many of Madonna's best singles never had music video accompaniment. Another one of her songs I liked was Holiday, and there was no official video. Well, actually, I heard there was...but it turned out so badly that it was never released.

It's completely overlooked today though (it's rumoured to be about her now ex-husband Sean Penn). I like that you posted the real True Blue video instead of the MTV contest winners in 1986.

I do like a lot of her old hits, even though I listen to her type of music less and less as the years go on.
I know a lot of people aren't crazy about this song, but I have fond memories of the period when it came out and it has always been a favorite of mine: "Who's That Girl".

Actually Pete, I liked "Who's That Girl". It was the bright spot on what was otherwise a mediocre soundtrack of an even more mediocre film. I also love Madonna's older hits. I think it was sometime after the "Ray Of Light" album that she became less and less relevant.

I'm really glad to see this feature taking off with several threads! Unfortunately, as you know, YouTube is blocked here at work , so I can only really participate from home. I can't even tell what many of your favorites are since many of you use the video to introduce them. All I get is a blank white box where the video should be. You'll be happy to know, however, that the adjacent advertisement shows up nicely! I'm not asking you to change your posting style (I like that style, actually) just bear with me until I can comment better in the evenings. I've never been a Madonna fan at all, and most of her songs that are familiar to me got that way by osmosis. I can say, however, that my favorite Madonna song is "Borderline." I'll post the video tonight.

Well I hate her. I think she's largely responsible for turning contemporary music into a Las Vegas style lounge acts.
But there's a very few songs I like, I'll say (gotta be a tie for two)
Like a Virgin and Material Girl.
Don't know why, they're guilty pleasures. And Material Girl is obnoxious, but I like to listen to it.

I can't quite explain why, but I do.
