Someone on another board posted this site of rare photos of famous people www.cracktwo.com/2010/01/rare-photos-of-famous-people-125-pics.html and it includes this very early photo of three of the Beatles when they were in their mid-teens. According to the caption, George was 14, Paul 15, and John 16. Love the hairdos!! I don't know who the fourth guy in the picture is, but I wonder if he realized that he was in the presence of future greatness.

Maybe he was the guy Ringo replaced?
At any rate, what an awesome photo!

Maybe the fourth guy is the British record executive who heard a demo of the group and said that guitar groups were on the way out, and no one'd want to listen to three kids play guitar.

Hi Ed,
I have some info about the picture.
This pic was taken by Paul's brother Mike. The fourth guys name is Dennis, he was their cousin Ian's best friend and this was the day of Ian's wedding. The house they are in belonged to Auntie Gin, she of course is the same "Auntie Gin" mentioned in the song "Let Em In."
This photo along with many more were included in a fantastic book Mike released quite a few years back called "Remember - Recollections and Photographs Of The Beatles."

All that is super trivia! It's the kind of thing we need more of on this site! You figure if Dennis is Ian's best friend and Ian is getting married, Dennis must be 5-10 years older than the three Beatles. I wonder if Dennis is thinking "who are these little kids? Do they think they can sing?" Of course what Dennis should have been doing was getting a copy of the picture and having The mini-Beatles autograph it!
