Grand Island, NE 45 Record shopping bonanza

The Gremashlo fam is driving through the nether regions of NEbraska, and we've stopped at Grand Island, a city of 45,000 (mediocre by world standards, freaking Metropolis by Nebraska standards)...we swing through several antique stores for something to do before the water park opened up, and on our last stop, we stumble into a store that immediately said, "We are pretentious, and everything is overpriced". However, I walk through, and spot a box marked "45s--$1 each", and found the following...in incredible shape:

ANother record I bought was "The Life Story of Hank Williams" by Hawkshaw Hawkins....

AND, I will get another go-around at Recycled Sounds in Lincoln in a few days...That is my new "home" for 45's!

Wow, Grem, that's an amazing haul. "Ten Little Indians" is a hard one to come across, as it wasn't one of their bigger hits. Does it have the picture sleeve, by any chance? If so, you have a very collectible item there.

Love "The Girl from Ipanema." I don't think I've ever seen a copy of that Bluebelles song on 45 - I'd imagine that's fairly rare as well.

You got a terrific haul there, Grem! I have most of these 45s, but I'm not sure if I have 10 Little Indians or not. I'll have to check. I do have the Bluebelles 45 (I don't think Patti LaBelle was listed on the label on my copy) and the original Carole King also (I remember the first time I heard it on the radio, I thought it was Bobby Vee!)

I assume the Elvis songs are on RCA. Original black labels, repressed black labels or red labels?

H2--I still need to right the wrong from earlier this year--you need a suitable German Lutheran welcome to the Cornhusker State, featuring pickled beef tongue and heart, pickled turkey gizzards and tomato beer. But I digress.

The Elvis are the standard black with Nipper, but I'll need to check out my books as to what specifics they fit. I also got a few today at the record store--but sadly they paled a bit with the GI antique store from yesterday--Cannibal and the Head hunters, Harold Dorman, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers were the highlights...

Odd that I've never HEARD "Ten Little Indians", but I'd heard about it...no picture sleeve, though. I did have a shot at a Jack Scott record/sleeve, but passed...just not a fan.

Teh only thing I know about "Junkman" is that The Book of Rock Lists had it in the top ten worst debut singles of popular acts!
