As you guys know, throughout our 7+ years at The Click, I have been more or less a "know what's on the charts" kind of guy, but I couldn't delve very deeply into a band's work.
Over the past several months I have gotten interested in doing some deeper diving. As a result, I am becoming somewhat educated on some of the lesser known parts of an artist's discography. I am right now learning about the following bands: The Hollies, The Bee Gees, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin and The Doors.
As I get into these groups I will post some album or song reviews of various types. One thing I have found that I am really enjoying listening to Steely Dan. I never cared for their hits (other than Rikki) but I really like some of their other stuff. I also just learned over Thanksgiving that the Bee Gees had an album called "A Kick in the Head is Worth Eight In The Pants." It was their last album before they moved to their disco/R&B style, and it was never released. I was able to find it in bits and pieces on line (mainly on YouTube.) and downloaded it. I definitely prefer the old Bee Gees to the disco Bee Gees, and it was like finding a treasure.
More to come!

I'd like to see that. That's the big trouble with oldies radio- they play the same 4 songs from a band and ignore all the other really great stuff out there.
Agree about the Bee Gees. Have you discovered the "Horizontal" album?
I especially want to see obscure Doors stuff.

I've loved the 2nd track "And The Sun Will Shine" for quite a while, actually. I first heard an edited version from their "One Night Only Concert" and liked it so much that I checked it out. That was probably 10 years ago or so. The Bee Gees song that I am appreciating more and more is "Dont Forget To Remember" from Cucumber Castle. It was a pretty big hit in Europe, but it barely cracked the Hot 100 in the US and didn't do much better in Canada either. It was written by Barry Gibb, but it is a country song. When I first heard it I had no idea who was singing it. I thought someone had made a mistake when they said it was The Bee Gees. But sure enough, it was Barry Gibb singing like he was from Texas

I first became aware of it, when my middle brother bought the "Best of Bee Gees Volume 2"collection.
