1968: The Bee Gees make their US debut at the Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. They earn top dollar -- $50,000 -- for their appearance but head straight back to their Australian home as soon as the concert is over. I always have preferred their early music. oldies.about.com/od/oldieshistory/a/january27.htm

I also prefer their early music (i.e. pre-disco). The Horizontal LP, and "Words" and "New York Mining Disaster 1941". When I first heard Disaster, the DJ said, Here's a group that's gonna be the next Beatles! And I thought, I like the song, but the next Beatles? No.
1930 Bobby Blue Bland - Turn on Your Love Light!
Mahalia Jackson had a TV show in the early 60s. Weekends, probably Sunday mornings on our non-network local station.

I agree. Their early music was best. My favorite song by the Bee Gees is the flipside of "NY Mining Disaster", "I Can't See Nobody." I have been listening to a lot of Bee Gees lately, including their disco and post-disco music. There is very little that I really like from their post disco as well as disco periods as muuch as the early stuff.
