1956: Elvis Presley makes his television debut on CBS' Dorsey Brothers Stage Show. Backed by the house band, he sings "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Heartbreak Hotel." I think that didn't happen until late that spring. I don't remember him being talked about in school intil the spring.
