Y'know, I'm sure that Edison had more than one assistant, but I do know that a great uncle of mine (my mom's uncle), did work for him for a time. I couldn't tell you the years, but I think more likely in the vewry early 20th century, not in the 19th. I just remember my mom saying that her uncle used to sleep on a cot in the laboratory many nights.

I only met him once or twice when I was very little. The info I got, I got from my mom, not directly from him. I know he suffered from asthma, and moved to Arizona in his later years (back in the day, Arizona was thought to be the remedy for all respiratory ailments). You live in Arizona, don't you, MC? Maybe you can search the state looking for his phonograph and records (if he had any in the first place.) ;D
