A song of pain and survival...from a guy who has survived a LOT...plus, I love this live version.

This is a pretty odd choice here...and it could be also used as the song that describes an event, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Here's the song.
Two things about this song.
1. It was the number one hit on December 1, 1997. 2. Some of you may know this, but this date has a lot of significance for me, for all the wrong reasons.
Now I can't listen to this song all the way through without feeling some sort of sadness...but I listen to it anyways when I am feeling down to let myself know that I had felt a LOT worse.

This is a beautiful song but it just affects me so that it seems sad and fits such a mood.

It depends what I'm sad about. But this one works pretty well. Not as much for the lyrics, but the melancholy trumpet.
