1997: Elvis Presley officially tops the list of dead entertainers with sales of over one billion records.
Is this the only year he topped the list? You'd think he'd be one of the perennial contenders.

You'd think he'd be one of the perennial contenders. Ed, I'm guessing this was the first year he was at the top. Not sure who it would have been before then, though. Or maybe there was no such list before then.
