Unique Oldies Station

I was on vacation with my friend Jody over the past few days in Wells, ME. Jody told me he found a very unique oldies station it was WXEX 92.1 and based in Sanford, ME which is about ten miles inland from Wells. Their sister station AM 1540 is based in Exeter. NH. I liked the station because there were songs I hadn't heard on an oldies station in years. I gather this is an independent owned radio station. Now perhaps I should note that the term oldies be lighlty used considering there were a few 80's songs and even one from the 90's thrown in for good measure. Here's a sample of a few songs that I heard over the past few days:

Sukiyaki - Kyu Sakamoto
Mr. Bluebird - Buffalo Springfield
Beechwood 5-4789 - Marvelettes
Long Tall Sally - Little Richard
Red Rubber Ball - The Cyrcle
Hurt So Bad - Linda Rondstat
Little Red Corvette - Prince
Found Out About You - Gin Blossoms
Peaceful Easy Feeling - Eagles
Going Out of My Head - Little Anthony & the Imperials

I know that many of us complain and bitch about how radio is too damn bland. However this new discovery was quite a refreshing find. So If you find yourself traveling in Southern Maine check out 92.1!

I think that's great, Dave. I believe the term "oldies" should go back to its original meaning: all music from the rock era that is not current, rather than using the term for a particular 10 or 20 year period (seeing they keep shaving the older end off anyway.) I'd much rather see a 50s to 90s mixture!
