More of the same.
5980. Born to Be My Baby-Bon Jovi 1988/89
We all had Slippery When Wet, but by this point, I realized BJ was out for tail, and thus was writing for chicks!
5979. Superstition-Stevie Wonder 1972/73
I know this is one of his 70's classics, but it just wasn't what I liked.
5978. Someday Man-Monkees 1969
Trying to remember, I think this was a B side? I don't know, it's Davey though, so I'm not big on it.
5977. Rock-n-Roll Dreams Come Through-Meat Loaf 1994
Remember when VH-1 played that concert over and over and over and over and over......well, that's where I first heard this. More than enough times.
5976. I Didn't Mean to Turn You On-Robert Palmer 1986
Wasn't quite the hit Addicted was, but I like the girls in this video running the cameras without all the powdered makeup.
5975. Tell Her About it-Billy Joel 1983
I know some of our seniors here like this song , but I just didn't dig these retro styled songs.
5974. Jump (For My Love)-Pointer Sisters 1984
One of several sports-filled videos of the mid 80's. The lesser of two Jumps from 84.
5973. Suicide Blonde-INXS 1990
Their follow up to Kick. I didn't ever like this one though. Another song from this album is one of my fave from them though.
5972. What's the New Mary Jane-Beatles 1968/96
The great lost Beatles single. I guess John recorded this a bunch of times with George. And rumor was he wanted to release this with You Know My Name as the first Plastic Ono Band single. I remember I was looking so forward to hearing this. What a disappointment. Very bizarre song, and not in a good way.
5971. White Horse-Laid Back 1984
Remember them playing this song and beeping out the word "b!tch"? We all chuckled. Forgotten these days. With good reason.
5970. Little Bitty Pretty One-Thurston Harris 1957
Used to get lots of oldies play, when the oldies played songs from the 50s. Remember that?
5969. The One You Love-Glenn Frey 1982
Glenn solo didn't do much for me, but this was an ok ballad. I think the sax annoyed me.
5968. Doing it All For My Baby-Huey Lewis & the News 1987
I was never big on Huey but these post-Sports songs were just all the same to me.
5967. Hold On Girl (Original)-Monkees 1967
This is the original "faster" version off of More of the Monkees. I much prefer the slowed down version on, you guessed it, Missing Links Volume II.
5966. Kokomo-Beach Boys 1988
I remember how much we all LOVED this when it came out. Then it got the crap played out of it. Same thing with the Stones' Mixed Emotions the following year.
5965. Winedark Open Sea-Paul McCartney 1993
Off the Ground was a decent enough album, but not as good as the previous Flowers in the Dirt.
5964. The One That You Love-Air Supply 1981
Look at the similiar title at 5969. Pure coincidence. Anyway, they were strictly a chick act, but this was one of the more tolerable ones.
5963. Authority Song-John Couger Mellencamp 1984
I actually had the album before this single was released (the first time that ever happened) and I didn't like it even then! Would have much preferred if he released the 4th track on side 1, Warmer Place to Sleep. Even back then, I thought he was going to.
5962. You Got Me Rocking-Rolling Stones 1994
At this point I was tired of all their comebacks. This got a fair amount of airplay though.
5961. Land of Confusion-Genesis 1986/87
I NEVER liked this song. This is when I was starting to not like Genesis. And I am SO sick of the video.
Have at it!
