LMAO!!! You crack me up, H2!! ;D I really didn't know that you had been investigating her! Too cool! Did you discover those songs on your own, or did you see me mention them? Checked a couple websites and,of course, my trusty Whitburn. The three songs I mentioned all charted.

Martina McBride - Your enthusiasm is very cool, and it's nice to learn more about this talented lady. Been a fan since she first hit it big, and I also feel she deserves to be in the spotlight far more often than she already is. By the way, as a fellow brunette, I'd have to say you're right about the whole "Blondes seem to be noticed more often." *lol* Anyway, her talent amazes me and I adore her voice. Faves: Independence Day, Wild Angels, Concrete Angel, Blessed Paul McCartney - He's my favorite Beatle! Much as love his work with the Beatles, it's his days with Wings that really sticks with me. Faves: With a Little Luck, Band on the Run, Listen to What the Man Said, No More Lonely Nights, Say, Say, Say, Silly Little Love Songs, Maybe I'm Amazed McCoys - Hang On Sloopy! Gene McDaniels - Not all that familiar. Michael McDonald - What a Fool Believes Thank you Kat! And the thing is, Bekki is a blonde (READ: natural, golden blonde, not bleach white blonde), but my thing is, the celeb blondes like that do get more press, ya know?

Hey, glad you appreciate her! And I know you really do because I remember you telling me how great you thought Where Would You Be was before I even had a chance to suggest it to you! BTW-did you discover Phones Are Ringin' on your own? I don't remember suggesting that one. Yes I discovered both "Phones " and Independence Day on my own

Martina McBride--What? You didn't include her Social Security Number? Her home phone? LOL! Just teasin'. I think it's cool that you're such a fan of hers. Now I 'spose I should comment on her. I was always just a casual fan of hers until you came along, Adam. Since then, I've investigated her further, and found out that I really like her voice. She's a wonderful singer. Very powerful. And she doesn't just sing fluff, like some of those other country singers. She actually has guts enough to take on serious issued with her music. Good for her! I have a couple of her CD's, and you keep telling me to get her Greatest Hits, which I really do plan to buy someday. Faves: I Love You, Blessed, Concrete Angel, Broken Wing, My Baby Loves Me, Love's the Only House, Whatever You Say, O Holy Night Paul McCartney--He's ok. Nothin' special. ;D KIDDING! Just kidding. What a contribution he's made to the music world, not just with the Beatles, but as a solo artist as well. And Wings wasn't shabby, either. Having said that, I've never been a HUGE fan of his, although I do enjoy quite a few of his songs. Quite a career he's had. McCoys--I guess I only know "Hang On Sloopy", which, when I was a kid, used to think the title was "Hang on Snoopy". ;D Gene McDaniels--I should probably know that 100 Pounds of Clay song, but it's not ringing any bells. Sorry. Michael McDonald--Interesting voice. Never got into him much though. I like "I Keep Forgetting". "Ya Mo Be There" is ok. Cannot stand "On My Own". Sappy City!

OH NO!!! I missed that special with the Chieftans!! Dodger, why didn't you tell me??? I didn't let you down with Collective Soul did I? You won't be disappointed!! Sorry, I didn't realize it was on until about 30 seconds before it started when my wife told me. On Collective Soul, just haven't been CD buying lately. Disciplined Breakdown is on my list of CDs I'm looking for.

Rali-NOTHING was lost in the translation-that is one of my FAVORITE skits of ALL TIME!!!!! It was hilarious!! Rick did indeed play Michael! He was rushing in the car to the studio to sing "Such a long way to go...." in the background of Christopher Cross' Ride Like the Wind! I have it on tape!!! FINALLY!!! Someone who gets it!!!! (Even if I did turn one song into"a bunch") Of course, it was also a someone who saw it! Everything is GROOVY! ;D >>I would have LOVED to have seen that Martina performance!! Any recollection of what she did??<< Um.. she sang. (Seriously, I THINK it was something patriotic, though; it kind of seems this was the parade that came after 9-11; maybe one day I'll look it up and report in.

One time, during the time when he was appearing on "everybody's" records, I was watching SCTV and they had a skit in which "Micheal" kept having to drive his sports car REALLY fast to make it just in time to record his part on each of a bunch of records. I totally remember this skit! It was hilarious ;D

1.Martina McBride-this lady has talent and style galore!
2.Paul McCartney-man,there's not enough room here to adequately describe my thoughts on this supreme music being! His talent is almost without equal and he has never had a bad period.I remember when Back to the Egg came out,the critics said that he'd finally hit bottom...I liked that album!Sir Paul, you'll always be in my Hit Parade!
3.McCoys-as has been previously stated,I have heard Hang On Sloopy enough to last me a life time
4.Gene Daniels-no real opinion here,sorry!
5.Michael McDonald-pretty good solo though he tends to get redundant after a while

WOW, what a write up! More than I expected! See, and what you said about her being a wonderful person, that is a big part of what I like about her-she's real, and a quality person. Her family is first, career is second. Works tirelessly for charity. The fact she is the best singer and good looking are bonuses! Funny how you named all the singles and I named the deeper tracks! LOL! Except, Whatever You Say! That song blows me away every time! Love the video too!! Well, as far as bonuses go, those aren't bad ones! LOL! Yeah, I named all the singles because those are all I know. All I have is her greatest hits album, which contains...all singles. I know, I really need to look into her other stuff too. You know, I haven't seen the video for Whatever You Say. Guess I ought to make a request, hmm?

[glow=red,2,300]Martina McBride- she is also one of my favorite country singers, with Independence Day being my favorite (it also had a pretty cool video). Concrete Angel is one of the few songs that make me teary-eyed so I don't listen to it often, but I also like Wild Angels. It is great that she is winning awards now because she is very talented. I, too, prefer songs with meaning as opposed to catchy songs, so that is another reason why I enjoy her music.
Paul McCartney- I haven't heard much of his stuff...I saw him sing a song called I think "Flaming Pie" on TV once, and I do like Silly Love Songs.
McCoys- Hang On Sloopy is a cool song.
Gene McDaniels- haven't heard any of his stuff.
Michael McDonald- I Keep Forgettin is the only thing I have heard of his...it's okay, but not anything I am too wild about.[/glow]

Gee, Sat I wonder why you were sooo excited today I must admit, I really haven't heard anything by Martina McBride. My taste usually does not run to country music, but I am open to new experiences. I love Christmas music, so perhaps I will have to check out her version of "Oh Holy Night" which is one of my favourite Christmas songs. Paul McCartney - I have always enjoyed his music, both with the Beatles and his solo work. "Say Say Say" was a complete abomination - even worse than "Give My Regards to Broadstreet". Actually, I liked some of the soundtrack but thought the movie was really lame. I loved "Mull of Kintyre", "Junior's Farm", "Band on the Run", "Silly Love Songs", "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" and many more. When I was younger, my brothers used to bring their small record player to the cottage, and of the 45's they used to bring, many of them were on the Apple label. That was where I first heard "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey". I loved "Hands across the water (water), hands across the sky" - what a great chorus! McCoys - I liked "Hang on Sloopy" Gene McDaniels - not really familiar with his work. Michael McDonald - his voice can indeed be very annoying. I liked "I Keep Forgettin" but that's the only one I really remember of his.
