You are so right! Never thought about it. We used to dance on her bed and sing "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" and the track would shift in the middle of it. We knew when it was coming, so we'd freeze, then resume after it shifted tracks. It just doesn't seem like that long ago....... That shifting had to be so annoying though! LOL!

Since we're doing all the Country ladies whose last names begin with "M", I'd like to throw in a request: Kathy Mattea. Just whenever you get around to it, if you don't mind. Thanks! Reba McEntire--Just a bit too twangy for my tastes, although she has had a couple of songs that I don't mind listening to. Fancy, Is There Life Out There, and Why Haven't I Heard from You come to mind. I do respect her for sticking to her country roots. I know she's got tons of fans, but I'm just not one of 'em. I do happen to think she's a pretty good actress. Loved her in Tremors! BTW--whenever her band's plane crashed--they were on their way to do a concert in my town. That was big news around here for a long time. What a tragedy that was. MC Hammer--"Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" was one of the first CD's I ever bought (hangs head in shame). But it was good music at the time! LOL! I always did think he was quite talented. Anyway--I remember when he was a guest on Oprah, and they showed his big ol' mansion, and all his cars that he had. Didn't last long, though. I guess he was generous to a fault, and gave all his money away. Lost the mansion, lost the cars, lost pretty much everything. Sad. Meat Loaf--I remember him from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and of course Bat Out of Hell. I always liked his songs. I saw him in a televised concert once on VH-1, and he really is an awesome live performer! I was impressed! Faves: Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, Paradise... You Took the Words...Read 'Em and Weep, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, I'll Do Anything For Love, Objects in the Mirror Are Closer than They Appear. Melanie--I was a big fan of hers when I was a kid. For some reason, she kinda reminded me of Linda Ronstadt. Maybe not singing wise, but looks wise, at least. I guess I'm about the only one here who kinda likes "Brand New Key". LOL! Other faves: What Have They Done to My Song, Ma (LOVE it), Lay Down, Peace Will Come, The Nickel Song, Ring the Living Bell. Men At Work--I have great memories of my husband and I listening to their songs at a local bar we used to go to. Good times. Ok, since I am just responding now, I am guessing I never did Kathy Mattea, did I? Sorry! I'll throw her in coming up! So do you watch Reba's show?

WCW didn't know what "The Brain" was all about. They totally dropped the ball with him! Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon were the funniest commentator team of all time! (no offense to JR and The King) I'm not big on JR & the King, so I agree with that!

Yeah, I mean.. how obnoxious can you get?! In all seriousness ('cause you know I really don't think you were being bad, and besides, it's been a long time since I gave you any crap in these music posts), I love it when someone shares how much they're into a certain group or artist! Reba McEntire - A friend of mine was really into Reba when we were in high school, so she got me hooked on her music. I used to have her Greatest Hits, but haven't been able to find the sucker in years! Anyhow, I like her style. Faves: Fancy, You Lie, How Was I To Know, The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia (good version) M.C. Hammer - Ohh yeah, had to love those pants.. am I right? LOL He was pretty cool for a while there, but I got tired of his music. No favorites. Meatloaf - Bat Out of Hell is a great album, and Meatloaf is definately one of my favorite artists. He doesn't look "perfect" (which I love), he has a wonderful energy and on-stage presence and that voice of his rocks. When he made a comeback, that was pretty damn sweet. Let's not forget him in the movies, which aren't bad at all! Faves: Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, Paradise By The Dashboard Lights, You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth, I Would Do Anything For Love Melanie - Brand New Key Men At Work - Down Under, Who Can It Be Now? I was SO obnoxious!! My wife has Reba's GH, vols 2 & 3.

[glow=red,2,300]Reba McEntire- one of my favorite country singers. She has a nice voice and is still country-ish when it seems like a lot of singers are doing more crossovers (which I like too). Faves- Fancy, Does He Love You, Till You Love Me. Hammer- when he first came out when I was younger, I listened to him a lot because he was the in thing. But thinking back on it I never liked him. Meatloaf- I have never heard any songs by him outside of the song he sung on the Rocky Horror Picture show, so I'm not sure. Melanie- the only thing I have heard of hers is Brand New Key, and I don't really like it. Haven't heard anything else though. Men At Work- they're pretty cool.[/glow] You may know other Meatloaf song if you heard it.

I must have missed your comment about On My Own! I so did not even see that! That would be awesome if Martina guested on Reba's show. Hmm...I think an e-mail to the WB's suggestion box is in order! Let's send one!

Reba McIntire - although I don't really like country music, I think Reba is one beautiful lady. M.C. Hammer - no real comments here. Meatloaf - Absolutely love Bat out of Hell. From the second album, I like "Life is a Lemon". Melanie - only ever heard "Brand New Key" and I would rather undergo a root canal with no freezing than listen to that high pitched annoying voice again. Men at Work - have loved this band since I first heard "Who Can it be Now" back in 1981. I had the tape of "Business as Usual" and recently bought "The Very Best of Men at Work". Faves - almost every tune on the best of album, but I really like "Overkill", "It's a Mistake", "Dr. Hekyll and Mr. Jive" and "B. Good Johnnie". LOL about Melanie!!
