Great as many singles were, there are also many album tracks that are excellent as well, but aren't as well-known or remembered as the hits. I thought it might be cool to have a thread discussion for them, where we recommend some of our favorites.
I'll start it off with Dave Mason's Mystic Traveler:
This is from his 1977 album Let It Flow. It was also the B side to We Just Disagree, which is how I first discovered it. About 5 or 6 years ago, I was going through some of my 45s and playing the B sides I'd never heard, and discovered this gem. At one time it was the most-played song on the media player on my computer.

Here is another of my favorites, The Guess Who's The Answer:
This originally appeared on 1970's Share the Land, but is also included on their Anthology, which is where I first heard it. Love the backing harmonies and the guitar work especially.
Feel free to add as many as you like!

I had the vinyl album years ago and don't remember this song.

Yes, the song is a bonus track on the Share The Land CD. Ken is correct - I hadn't realized it hadn't appeared on the album originally. Strange that it wasn't included back then, as it's a great track, one of their best.

Another to add to the list:
The Bee Gees' Kilburn Towers, from 1968. It's from Idea, and was also the B side to I Started A Joke. Great track from their earlier years.

Here is Bluebird is Dead, from ELO's 1973 album On the Third Day:
Anyone else think this is very reminiscent of John Lennon's style, especially on the verses?

Here's another one from the Bee Gees. It was recorded in 1965 and is in the Spics an Specks album. It was also featured in the 1971 movie Melody, and is in that soundtrack.
I actually was only marginally familiar with it until I saw a tape of their "One Night Only" concert.

It's amazing how versatile and polished they were, especially since they were all still in their teens at the time. Very talented guys.

This was redone by them in the early 70's as "Morning Of My Life". Not sure what album, but it's on their box set. I had no idea that it was a song they had recorded earlier, but it MAY have been the remake that was used in the movie.

They seem to use the two different titles (In the Morning and Morning of my Life) indiscriminately - or even with one of the titles parenthetically after the other - in either order. Here it is with the opening credits:

One funny thing. I experienced a "misheard lyric" moment just now listening to it - one that could never have happened in 1970. When they sing "I'd like to help you, but you're too far gone" I was hearing "I'd like to help you if you do log on."
